There’s no way that, a year ago, you could script the scenario where the death of over 4,000 Americans in a day would not be the top news item.
Gonna make the news pretty boring. With some 2.8 million deaths a year in the US there’s near 8,000 every day. So, the top news item each and every day must be that near 8,000 people died yesterday, right?
“There’s no way that, a year ago, you could script the scenario where the death of over 4,000 Americans in a day would not be the top news item.”
Does that include the woman killed for protesting a rigged election?
If you believe the CDC USA excess deaths indicator (https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm#dashboard) on Dec 12th – the highest recent reliable reading – we expected 57K weekly deaths, upper expected bound of 59K deaths, got 72.5K deaths – 2.2K excess deaths a day, if you’re being generous. Back in Jan 18 we had 67.6K excess deaths, which is not far off – and interestingly, the upper expected bound was 62K. So “10% worse than 3 years ago!” should be the headline.
that should be “January 2018”, for clarity
Wow, 4,000. That’s over twice the number being killed by abortion per day. Median age of death with Covid is slightly above life expectancy.
Median age of death from abortion is rather slightly below life expectancy. Just an observation.
