The Establishment

The decision by social media companies to ban Trump while continuing to host the profiles of other leaders who regularly make inflammatory statements on social media, such as Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro and officials from India’s BJP Party, could result in inconsistent moderation, it has been claimed.

Because, you see, populist means people from outside the political establishment getting into political power. And that can’t be allowed, can it? Otherwise, what’s a PPE degree for?

“I think there’s a double standard at work here,” said Bob Seely, the Conservative MP for the Isle of Wight.

That establishment still rather smarting from the irruption of Ukip and Brexit.

Can’t have apple carts being upset now, can we?

  1. Then again, maybe elected representatives SHOULD have a certain latitude to say what they think on Twatter or Farcebook, then we can be a bit more informed when choosing to vote for some other bugger.

It’s not the inconsistency of silencing Trump while giving voice to others in foreign which are arguably worse. It is silencing Trump when others like the Antifa/BLM guys are given a pass when calling for immediate violence. I don’t remember anyone voting for Antifa/BLM at any point.

  2. Some fairly massive assumptions here

Number 1 is that social media is about enabling free speech

When actually it’s a massive data gathering operation designed to feed market research and marketing

The cat videos are just fluff

Since then a new arm of social engineering has emerged, using the same data and marketing techniques, to develop and encourage approved thought

    Social media is the telescreen

  3. How does Facebook treat the Chinese government and its minions?

I’ll bet it doesn’t censor those minions who happen to be in Congress or American academia.

I suppose Uighurs don’t count. Odd: I imagine that in the US they’d be classed as People of Color.

Not that I have a policy on Uighurs any more than I have a policy on Israel/Palestine. But I can’t help noticing inconsistencies in other peoples’ policies.

  4. So Much For Subtlety

For some, Pravda is a goal not a warning. Trump stumbled into twitter. Now they will make sure it does not happen again.

Soon it won’t matter because America will be flooded with so many illegals, the Democrats will never lose again.

  5. Soon it won’t matter because America will be flooded with so many illegals, the Democrats will never lose again.

They don’t need illegals, there’s still plenty of dead people that didn’t even vote at all this time around.

  6. Soon it won’t matter because America will be flooded with so many illegals, the Democrats will never lose again.

Not so sure now about the former because the ‘rats have figured out they’re not reliable and not essential. If the ‘rats can convince America that a dozy, senile corruptocrat and a cackling whore won a landslide fair and square without even trying, then they’ll be able to convince them of anything. No need for illegals – but they may bring them in out of habit.
