Well, clearly

Just two months after coming out as transgender, Elliot Page — the actor formerly known as Ellen Page — is divorcing wife Emma Portner.

Either she’s no longer a lesbian or her soon to be ex-wife wishes to remain one…..

  1. Don’t be so cynical, Tim. Elliot has probably just had enough of sitting around shoe shops while Emma tries on half the stock.

  2. What’s going on with her forehead, ffs. Looks like she’s auditioning for the remake of This Island Earth or that episode of Star Trek where the aliens use their mental powers to catfish Captain Pike.

  3. So Much For Subtlety

Page was probably just pissed off because the wife didn’t complain about the toilet seat being left up

  4. I am trans . . .
    . . . the trans community . . .
. . . the fervent support of trans life every single day

Not doing too much there to convince me that what she really wants is to be accepted as a man. She wants, demands, to be seen as being transgressive – but to damn you to hell if you agree with her.

  5. I can imagine the conversations;
No, you cannot continue to nibble my fern if you grow a moustache.
No, you cannot sleep with me if you have a knob
But I dont have a knob, thats a good few years down the road if ever.
You THINK you have a knob, its a virtual knob, I am OPPRESSED

Do yourself a favour love, be happy to ditch the nutter, find yourself another one who wants to munch your mimsy, and retains a fanny for your delectation.

  6. :Trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world”

The kind of gift that you put in a box and wait until next Christmas so you can give it to someone else.

  7. What PJF says. Like every other of modern progressive culture, this is just performative narcissistic wibble. And boring too; so afflicted with groupthink they don’t even transgress interestingly.

“Trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world,”

I do not consider an irritating pain in my ass to be a gift.

  9. Most women want their partners to have their shit figured out before even considering a relationship. Pretty sure you should have your identity issues figured out before you get married, but maybe I’m just too traditional in that sense.

Let’s just be happy there are no kids caught in the middle of all this, as with any divorce.

  10. I feel sure Orwell, Huxley and Bradbury owe me a refund tho – I was led to believe the dystopia would be less shit-grippingly tedious than “Western Civ melts down into a puddle of gay fluids”

  11. @Andy
I think that should read: ‘married’ to his beard. The only way she couldn’t have noticed his gayness is if she was blind and deaf.

  12. Dennis, The Peak of Mental Health

Or, and maybe I’m stretching here, Page is a nutter and this was the last straw for the spouse.

It’s far more likely that they’re both batshit crazy and couldn’t fit it all in one room.

  13. Ellen has made a few million so there are other mentally ill people queueing to take this lesbian’s place, and they don’t care about the size of her forehead.

  14. Like every other of modern progressive culture, this is just performative narcissistic wibble

If only it was just that.

  15. Isn’t it obvious? Two lebians in divorce court – who does the court screw over?

Now that there’s a bloke in the mix it’s simple, job done.

  16. G2

I thought T trumped L in this particular parlour game. Won’t the T simply claim that the L has become a TERF, or something.

Alphabet people – what a fucking hoot!

  17. Page likes to use two sets of pronouns – both they/them and He/him – as if one set isn’t good enough.

Only seen one film with Page in – Inception. They (she as they then was) was passable, but not critical to the film, except as part of the exposition process for Leo’s character. Anyone could have filled the role.

Will Page now be attempting to corner the market in female to male transgender and non-binary roles, or will she be demanding to be considered for male roles. They is 5′ 1″ and slightly built. Many leading roles would be inaccessible for a cis male actor of that stature, but I bet the alphabet people demand she be cast without consideration to this. It might be fun to see them as Rocky’s next opponent.

I have no issue with Page being who or what they want to be, but the bending over backwards to avoid causing offence is sometimes ridiculous. On IMDB, the blurb for Juno, the film that they made their name for, has been modified since Page made their announcement. Previously it read “Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, an offbeat young woman makes an unusual decision regarding her unborn child”. Now it reads “Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, an offbeat young person makes an unusual decision regarding the unborn child”. Did Juno, the character, come out as trans too?
