Freeports

These are tax havens at the end of the day. The government will get less money – and when this government says that it needs to raise more tax that means someone else will pay. Why should we all subsidise those who want to free ride us by using a freeport?

No, not really, they’re regulation havens. And the point of them is that certain activities are too over-regulated….

Does he explain what taxes don’t get paid as a result of the freeport status? And why does he care when inflation in the UK does not officially exist? I thought Friday tended to be a day when tax is to take money out of an overheating economy

I thought that rich people don’t flee high taxes?
