  1. Personally, I reckon this is about girls no longer smoking. Nicotine has mild anti-depressant effects. You make it impossible to smoke everywhere, pour a fortune into campaigns and people quit or don’t take up the habit.

Also, a lot of teenage girls just need a baby pumped into them. We do all of this the wrong way around: university, career, kids, carry on with career. It’s should be kids, university, career.

  2. So Much For Subtlety

It’s should be kids, university, career.

It should be kids. Maybe career. No point sending girls to do pointless liberal arts subjects that just teach lesbianism. I have not seen a happy female non-STEM graduate under 50. Except for those that married and had children.

Can’t these poor kids just be given face piercings and tattoos like the normal teenage girls?

A lot of teenage girls do start off in your preferred order and have babies. Oddly though, subsequent higher education and employment is a rarity. There is often a career, of sorts.

  5. As SMFS said, a large chunk of the blame for this can be assigned to feminism. Telling young women and girls that they should aspire to be be more like men was always a disaster waiting to happen. The fact is that the majority of women were happier being wives and mothers in the 1950’s than they are being office-dwelling drones today.

  6. These figures only go up to March last year. Will be interesting to see what effect lockdown has had on self-harmers.

Andrew, I predict fewer hospital admissions but a boom in self harm. Girls are quite self aware, calculating what they can do without being hospitalised.

  8. Let’s be fair… To check al the boxes required to live up to the expectations required of a 3rd/4th gen Feminist would make anyone bonkers.
Hell, half of the requirements are contradictory, and a fair percentage require you to be in two places at the same time doing 6 things at once..

The kids mentioned alone…. You should have them in your Safe Fertile Period, which directly overlaps with the time you should be doing your Grievance Studies, while starting your Career, while Fighting the Patriarchy…..

  9. It would be better if young women 18-24 say–instead of scarring or starving themselves-were to enter into temporary relationships with much older and nastier men. Who would use them sexually without the slightest regard for their well-being. As well as making use of them as absolute domestic skivvies. The women would have to commute as their “oldboy-friends” would not want them underfoot and would also need to work at 1-3 jobs so as to make an adequate contribution to their “lovers” income

This would –I am sure–within a year or two produce such a therapeutic catharsis of misery as to turn most such women away from self-defeating and self damaging lifestyles and make them appreciate and pursue the much better types of men they could have a life with.

  10. Having spoken with a number of youth mental health workers the numbers way up in lockdown, in fairness most of them, unlike the teachers, have been very frustrated at not being able to do their job
