This is amusing from Bernie Sanders

92 million are uninsured or underinsured

To get to that number you’ve got to include all those on Medicaid as being uninsured or underinsured. Which is interesting, don;t you think? Man who argues for government health care says government health care isn’t enough?

There’s also this:

Unbelievably, the two richest people in America, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, now own more wealth than the bottom 40% of Americans combined.

Someone with no debts and a $10 bill usually owns more than the bottom 30 to 40% of the population in aggregate in any wealth distribution. Because it’s possible – indeed normal at times in the life cycle – to have negative wealth.

  1. Dennis, Pointing Out The Obvious

A politician who lies through his teeth in order to stoke resentment in one group of citizens for another group of citizens is not amusing.

Especially when he claims to be a socialist but owns three houses.

  2. So the Fed says that the bottom 50% of households in the USA have $2.09T in net assets (the difference between about $7T of goodies and $5T of debt)

    https://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/z1/dataviz/dfa/distribute/chart/#quarter:0;series:Net%20worth;demographic:networth;population:1,3,5,7;units:levels;range:2005.2,2020.2

There are 128M households in the USA, so half of them is 64M. The average wealth per household in that bottom 50% is therefore 2.09 x 10**12/64 x 10**6, which is about $30K. If the ‘rithmetic was right…

Bernie’s net worth is estimated at around $2M. FWIW, Pelosi’s is probably $100M
