Well, no, not really Ash

Strange poems popped up portraying lurid sexual fantasies about having a threesome with me and the French far-right leader Marine Le Pen.

Marion perhaps ….

  1. I was referred to as an Islamist and a paedophile worshipper

    So she’s saying she’s NOT a Moslem? “¯\_(ツ)_/¯“

  2. Bizarre episode. Why do these columnists write such stuff if it leads to them having to recant and apologise and pay damages? Do they really have no sense of what is likely to be actionable? You would have thought that years of abusing people and sailing close to the wind would give them a fine sense of what they could get away with.

  3. Grab a Granny seems to be quite the thing in France these days.

Actually, on the lefty intellectual side, France seems rather noncey. The Spectator has had a few articles on the phenomenon. One chap who molested his stepson but, when accused, brushed it off by saying that it didn’t count as he’d never buggered the lad.

They also reviewed a book by a former squeeze of writer Gabriel Matzneff, who dated the girl when she was underage, with the full consent of her mother, although maman did get a bit jealous. There’s a bit of a scandal apparently, which is odd because apparently no-one in France raised an eyebrow when (some years ago) Matzneff wrote about his fondness for orgies with little boys in SE Asia.

As so often, the allegedly moral left turns out to be a sewer.

It seems unlikely anyone would fantasise about joining a middle-aged French lady in order to hack their way through the unruly undergrowth of Ash’s nether regions, but there’s all sorts on t’internet.

  5. MC

Sexual deviancy has always been rife amongst the French left, it is almost a cliche. Foucault is a good example, another hero intellectual, Louis Althusser murdered his missus in rather a bizarre relationship. And of course there’s that rapey Strauss Kahn bloke.

  6. Sounds like the usual from Ash. ‘I can call those scum whatever I please, but they can’t say anything nasty about me.’

I had thought Le Pen had been deviating a bit to the left; I’d always felt her father hadn’t quite vanished over the leftward political horizon from where I sat.

But I was pleased to see she still has the right opinions about nukes.
