My word, Brexit just is such a disaster

Trade between the UK and France bounced back towards normal in March as firms adjusted to life after Brexit, according to analysis by French customs officials.

Imports from Britain climbed to 107pc of typical levels after taking Covid effects into account, the research found – with exports back at 96pc.

“Imports from Britain climbed to 107pc of typical levels after taking Covid effects into account, the research found – with exports back at 96pc.”

Imports FROM Britain, and this is data from French customs, so from a British perspective that’s our exports at 107% and our imports at 96% – so we’re doing even better than before at selling them stuff.

(Yes, I know the point of trade is imports, but the Remainers tend to use mercantilist arguments, which this comprehensively trashes)

…after taking Covid effects into account…

What – like people not being able to buy stuff that they might otherwise have bought? I suspect that we are in the realms of mystery and imagination with these numbers.

Will it be reported by Remainer Central – the BBC?

No doubt Diogenes, they’ll report the dire straits the UK is in, since it can’t get all the goodies it used to.

How would French customs know? None of it had to be declared to customs before.
