This is just barking mad

Samira Ahmed, the presenter, has said that she is “haunted” by suggestions that the BBC’s news coverage might have “built up” Nigel Farage and Ukip.

The amount of fighting we had to do to gain even partial coverage…….

  1. Built up by the reaction of reasonable people to the obvious bias and constant negativity towards Brexit in general and Farage in particular. The law of unintended consequences maybe?

  2. To which the response is:
Anything the Propaganda Channel keeps slagging off has to be worth a look, thanks for the tip, Herr Beeb!

  3. You should write to her and say: “We couldn’t have done it without you.” Make her really miserable.

Clearly, because the amount of coverage Ms. Ahmed would have given Nige and UKIP would have been zero. With “impartial” presenters like this it’s easy illustrate the issue of bias by the BBC. Defund the buggers ASAP!

  5. Ah! So that’s why they tried to balance it out after the referendum, by packing the Question Time panel with Remain campaigners. (80% of the panel were Remain. The BBC made no attempt to reflect the proven view in the country.)

  6. I wonder whether she is haunted by BBC’s contribution to Greta Thunberg’s status as superstar celebrity teenager.

She isn’t going to be haunted if she’s on the same side.

  7. Is she stupid, or barking, or dishonest? I dunno.

I don’t watch TV news or listen to news on the radio. Stick to the sports, say I, and the whodunnits. And Hillary Mantel and Jane Austen.

Good. I hope she is haunted for the rest of her life. In some circles it’s known as “The Wages of Sin”.

  9. “I wonder whether she is haunted by BBC’s contribution to Greta Thunberg’s status as superstar celebrity teenager.”

I thought her reputation was that of a doom potato.

  10. File this under “Attention seeker seeks attention.”

People who are truly haunted by their past actions/failures don’t moan about it in the national press.
They develop problems with addictive substances and end up doing themselves in.

  11. This type of person can’t understand how Brexit happened. It can’t possibly be that a majority of Brits thought that the EU is a bit shit and that the UK would be better off out of it. Therefore there must be a more sinister explanation, that endless pro leave propaganda from the BBC caused it.

  12. Is she stupid, or barking, or dishonest? I dunno.

With the ‘liberal’ left, the lines between those three characteristics are often blurred.
