Bird shooting

We can see the rival stories being trialled already:

“While the investigation is at an early stage, there is nothing to suggest that the woman who was shot was the subject of a targeted attack or that she had received any credible threats against her prior to this incident,” the force added.

In a statement posted online, the TTIP wrote: “It is with great sadness that we inform you that our own Sasha Johnson has been brutally attacked and sustained a gunshot wound to her head.

“She is currently in intensive care and in a critical condition. The attack happened in the early hours of this morning, following numerous death threats as a result of her activism.

“Sasha has always been actively fighting for black people and the injustices that surround the black community, as well as being both a member of BLM and a member of Taking the Initiative Party’s Executive Leadership Committee.

Shootings – around parties perhaps – in South London are not exactly unheard of. It’s possible that this was just one of those things. It’s also possible – possible – that this was a result of her activism.

And yet we know what we’re going to get told with ever increasing levels of shrillness, aren’t we? Martyr to the cause, victim of the imposition of structural racism……

  1. It’s going to be especially interesting to see the response if it turns out the shooter is black.

  2. You’re right. Why would anyone want to give this aspiring footballer & rap musician a tap?

  3. “Part and parcel of living in a big city”.

The Deptford fire 1981 = “at the start of the original investigation Police believed it was a racist attack – that a fire bomb had been thrown through a downstairs window”.
So racist whitey then, but when the truth came out that the fire was started during a fight at the party, the narrative changed and the Police, Justice System and media (ie: racist whitey) got the flack.
And still, no been charges brought.

  4. Being on time and working hard are examples of “white supremacy” according to this movement. The attending surgeons should keep that in mind.

  5. Highly unlikely that anyone white was involved or indeed within half a mile of the incident…

We may never find out of course, as I am sure she won’t want the white supremacist police to investigate.

  6. “It is believed the shooting occurred in the vicinity of a house where a party was taking place and a number of people may have been in the area.”

No doubt a stack of witnesses are queuing up to give statements and assist police in solving this crime.

Or do Black Lives not really Matter?

  7. Also, I can’t find any news report stating where the shooting occurred- in the street, or in a house.

But the mention of ‘parties’ in the area may well be a clue.

  8. So what’s she going to do? Make a statement to the police and be seen as a ‘rat’ or maintain a wall of silence and demonstrate that she doesn’t care about black lives?

  9. I would guess, given the apparent larpy nature of it all, an accidental discharge is a one of the possibilities. And if so I expect strict Omerta with hints of dark or in this case pale forces.

  10. Institutional racism is to blame. We need more Black statues, episodes of Black Mirror, and a Black History Year to celebrate Black contributions to British society and Black inventions.

Such as (indirectly) the bicycle lock.

  11. Even if it was a black person attending a black party that shot this black girl, no doubt whitey will be to blame.

No doubt “Police are searching for persons of no appearance”.

  12. The media are still hoping for the Great White defendant aren’t they? It can’t have been a white guy though. as she was shot in the head wasn’t killed instantly. Mind you, the bullet missed her brain by three feet….

  13. It’s just come out that it was a drive by between rival gangs, and she was just collateral damage.

I guess she spent her short time on earth trying to insist ‘black lives matter’ to the wrong audience…

  14. I’m sorry but the first thing I did was laugh. There obviously is some sort of universal supreme being/cosmic entity, and he/she/it has a bitchin’ form of karmic justice going on. I wonder who made the call to the police. I’d like to have heard that phone call.

‘So let me get this straight, you, BLM, want us, the police, to come and investigate your black friend’s shooting by some other black people? Are you sure? Won’t we just oppress you with our micro-aggressions and institutional racism?’

  15. Imarn Ayton, who met Sasha Johnson during the Black Lives Matter protests last year, said that from information she had been told: “There was a rival gang that may have heard about someone being in that party that they didn’t feel quite comfortable with or trusted and so they resorted to driving past and shooting into the garden, and one of those shots obviously hit Sasha Johnson.”

So, it’s just a culturally appropriate “alternative dispute resolution procedure” in the not white community if someone feels uncomfortable.

  16. Perhaps her organisation could campaign for a process to help police disarm inner city criminals? Perhaps a targeted one based on the statistical likelihood of them carrying weapons?

  17. @BraveFart: I’ve been to parties where there’s been someone I didn’t like too, but I just feigned a headache and left early!

  18. From the Irish Indo

“There was a rival gang that may have heard about someone being in that party that they didn’t feel quite comfortable with or trusted and so they resorted to driving past and shooting into the garden, and one of those shots obviously hit Sasha Johnson

Which is a rather tortuous way to explain the inexplicable

  19. Bloke in North Dorset

Someone suggested on Twitter that the police should step aside to let social workers do the investigation.

I hope they haven’t been using any of that white man’s science in the hospital, she’ll be fuming if comes round and finds they have.

  20. It seems there were a lot of parties of no particular appearance here this weekend. One of the dead was described as a recent arrival from Jamaica. The next Tom Hamilton no doubt.

Besides, Britain has such good gun laws that this couldn’t have happened. (Tinfoil hat on) So it must have been a government hit.

  21. “a party was taking place and a number of people may have been in the area, a Met Police statement said.”

That’s why they’re the police. Because they can work out that “people may have been in the area” of a party.

  22. “Ms Johnson works in activism and community support and got a first in social care at Oxford University”

Seriously? Oxford does a degree in Social Care?

  23. Ah. Closest Google could find me was a Foundation Degree in Social Care at Swindon, validated by Oxford Brookes.

  24. That was good shooting to hit her somewhere that was not vital. Perhaps black lives matter after all!

  25. “she was just collateral damage”: Sailer’s Law of Mass Shootings applies, even though this was not – as far as I know – strictly “mass”.

  26. 27 year old devoted single mother of 2 according to initial BBC report, hope she wasn’t devoted enough to have the kids with her
