Keira Bell would disagree

Actor Elliot Page has revealed how much happier he feels after having top surgery, and described transitioning as “life-saving”.

“I want people to know that not only has it been life-changing for me, I do believe it is life-saving and it’s the case for so many people,” the actor told Oprah Winfrey on her new show for Apple TV+.

  1. Woman hates herself so much she has her tits cut off, then tells the world it’s all OK, in an effort to convince herself. Hard to find a photo of the poor girl where she doesn’t look ready to open a vein.

  2. Top surgery? If you need surgery, you will certainly feel better if you have top surgery performed by a top surgeon. Who wouldn’t choose the best?

  3. This is a bloody nuisance. I had to actually exert myself and do a little research to find out that Ellen Page was a woman who’s had her tits cut off.

I don’t give a damn if she wants to dress in frocks or pants. But I grew up when women were ‘she’ and blokes were ‘he’. Saved us all a lot of bother.

  4. She’s probably aiming for the niche market in transmen as cis actors are no longer allowed to fake it.

  5. Apparently this is news, and not only news, front page news.

It is possible because if “unique way the BBC is funded”, I suppose.

  6. Rob,

I would categorise it more as the modern day equivalent of visiting bedlam to laugh at the lunatics.

  7. “the actor told Oprah Winfrey”

Going on Oprah: how z-list celebrities announce their terrible life choices.

  8. Don’t they have to say that otherwise it’s just body mutilation and no self-respecting doctor should perform the surgery.

  9. Page was cute in Juno and as Kitty Pryde in the X-men movies, it’s such a shame he/she decided to turn herself into a homeless man’s Justin Bieber. Note also he/she was married to another lesbian, who has understandably divorced her since he/she decided they were a man…

  10. Why oh why is an opinion of a clearly maladjusted idiot worth any page time?

Well, yeah, it’s because the publisher has got nothing of substance to post…

So the next question is – why does anyone pay attention to a site which has nothing to say?

  11. Unlike more legitimate cases like Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner, or Walter/Wendy Carlos, Ellen/Eliot hasn’t developed a personality, a skill, or anything interesting about his character aside from his appearance.

    How is this progressive, again?
