Be a victim of that and your name will be read out in the House of Commons, you’re a martyr to the patriarchy.
A 66-year-old former military administrator stabbed her 78-year-old husband at their Somerset home and told a 999 operator: “I thought I’d get his heart but he hasn’t got one,” a murder jury has been told.
Penelope Jackson allegedly murdered her husband, David, a retired army lieutenant colonel, on 13 February at their home in the coastal village of Berrow, claiming he was abusive and controlling.
A jury at Bristol crown court heard that David Jackson managed to call 999, telling the operator his wife had stabbed him and screaming in pain as she allegedly drove the knife into him for the final time.
Jackson herself then took over the call, and calmly told the handler: “I’ve killed my husband, or tried to, because I’ve had enough.” When asked where he was, she replied: “He’s in the kitchen bleeding to death with any luck.”
Kill a bloke and he had it coming to him, didn’t he?
Women secretly, sometimes not very secretly, admire women who kill men. To them it must be like admiring a man who wins a fist fight with a bear or a giant or something.
The audience for TV shows about serial killers, true crime dramas and murder mystery novels is feminine.
Steve’s theory of the sexes: men are like dogs and women are like cats.
Dogs are simple animals that are simple in both their pleasures and their wrath. They can be aggressive and vicious, but they’re not cruel.
Cats are beautiful and mysterious ambush predators who seem to enjoy tormenting their prey.
Logically, the only solution is to ensure women have lots of tasty treats and comfortable places to sleep, and put a little bell around their necks so they can’t sneak up on you.
I note her statement to the emergency services that ‘I’ll accept everything that’s coming my way’ didn’t extend to pleading guilty…
Or beat them to the punch Steve. Supposed military man should have seen the signs of unrest on the wing and arranged an accident. Wherever he is he will surely be embarrassed to appear in front of the Honoured Dead as a mug stabbed by his wife.
Eh? Ffs Ecksy, real life isn’t COMMANDO (1985).
Most people, including retired military chaps, don’t have it in them to do a murder. Most retired military chaps aren’t badass warriors either, they’re sarcastic alcoholics with dodgy knees.
Tbh I’d much rather my wife killed me than t’other way around. Death is nothing at all.
It’s throughout society. If a man hits a woman over the head with a rolling pin in a BBC programme, you’re watching a drama. If a woman hits a man over the head with a rolling pin in a BBC programme you’re watching a comedy.
In the real world, man murders wife, the media wonders what sort of monster he is. Woman murders husband, the media wonders what he did to drive her to do it.
What is a military administrator? Doesn’t sound very martial even with Lt Col rank.
Women who kill men, like Africans or Asians who kill White people, will always be excused by the Media/ Establishment because let’s be honest chaps, we’re asking for it.
@ Steve:
Women secretly, sometimes not very secretly, admire women who kill men.
Yes, but not as much as they love, love, LOVE male serial killers.
Women are weird….
When the Himalayan peasant meets the he-bear in his pride,
He shouts to scare the monster, who will often turn aside.
But the she-bear thus accosted rends the peasant tooth and nail.
For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.
What is a military administrator? Doesn’t sound very martial even with Lt Col rank.
Is there still a Royal Army Pay Corps? (Google says no.)
Did Kipling just assume that bear’s gender?
@ philip
The “military administrator” was the female, the Lt Col the male.
The administrator took several goes to actually kill a 78-year-old, so maybe not all that military or maybe just not all that efficient.
@Steve
A compelling theory
Plus lions are cats….
