Here’s the plan Joe

The embattled US president insisted that tackling inflation is a “top priority” after the consumer price index hit 6.2pc in the year to October, its sharpest rise since 1990. This was a significantly bigger pick-up than the 5.4pc recorded in September, and was higher than economists had expected.

It is likely to raise fears that US price rises will be followed by a similar surge around the world, triggering a global squeeze on living standards.

After the data were released, Mr Biden said he had directed the White House’s National Economic Council to find a way of reducing soaring energy costs.

Allow folks to build pipelines, frack on Federal land, all that stuff. Not that this will help immediately but over time…..

  1. A self-inflicted wound? Was it worth taking all that trouble to “win” the election in order to get a clownshow?

Wasn’t ‘winning’ just about protecting those who run the State from Trump? Not actually doing anything for the country once they got in.

  3. The Other Bloke in Italy

Do I remember correctly, that Biden’s handlers’ Energy Secretary said that the entire industry had to be shut down, and was confirmed in her appointment anyway?

  4. Bloke in North Dorset

Looks like next year’s mid-terms are going to be a bloodbath for the Dems, on a par with, if not bigger than, Newt Gingrich’s Contract with America.

Expect the damage limitation and excuses to Stuart very soon.

Maybe California could also stop shutting down its nukes, or even start some up again. They don’t give off CO2 either.

  6. Was it worth taking all that trouble to “win” the election in order to get a clownshow?

Absolutely yes. They just awarded themselves a $1Tn Looting Infrastructure Bill a few days ago, and no doubt there’s plenty of delicious financialisation to come from COP26 / the US’s re-entry to the Paris Accords.

The US government being a clownshow doesn’t faze them one bit. I just watched an official Microsoft presentation where the corporate flunkies started off their pitch by describing their racial and sexual phenotypes. Apparently the lollercoaster didn’t stop there:

Senior Developer Tools Division Program Manager Allison Weins introduced one such session with an acknowledgement of how the “land where the Microsoft campus is situated was traditionally occupied by “The Sammamish, The Duwamish, The Snowqualmie, the Muckleshoot, the Snohomish, the Tulalip, and other Coast- Salish peoples since time immemorial.”

  7. Well Steve, I thought you were bullshitting me with those names. Shows how behind the times I am, eh!!

I think I like Muckleshoot the best though. Sounds more English.

  8. The Demorats are looting the USA to ruin and have created Gen Z wankers who are full of leftist bullshit and still live with their parents. A “generation” who’ll cry if their sweetie money is stopped.

Time for USA to use its “means” to remove Senile Joe and his commie backing group and start from 101 again.

Also true for UK. Cept moral courage is our main means.

  9. “since time immemorial”: or, at least, since just before the Spanish pitched up. There’s doubtless good reason why the Injuns stop scholars studying the bones and DNA of early inhabitants.

Anyhoo: “The embattled US president …”. I wonder what “embattled” is a euphemism for.

“was higher than economists had expected.” Natch. Quantitative economic predictions are always wrong.

  10. I think I like Muckleshoot the best though.

Well, those Puget Sound tribes speak Lushootseed so they can all muck in together. Snohomish can mean “a style of union among those of the brave”. Seems like it’s always been a bit Left Coast up there.

I’m not so sure that the Dems (and the Left in general) haven’t tied their horse to the wrong cart. Gen Z wokery is a wipipo thing. And as such is dying out. And the immigrants who the Left think are going to be their voting block in perpetuity don’t actually care for all that shit, they are actually a pretty conservative lot really, especially the more they get embedded into a country. Asians don’t take kindly to the denigration of the family and are increasingly running up against ‘affirmative action’ in the educational sphere, so they are likely to move right over time. Hispanics are Catholic so equally socially conservative. Immigrants are also more likely to be working stiffs, than middle class SJWs so all the wokery is going to drive them if not into the arms of the Right, at least away from voting for the Left. Trump picked up a lot of non-white votes. I don’t think its by any means sure that the Dems should start singing ‘Tomorrow belongs to me!’ on the assumption that they will be the recipients of non-white votes forever.

  12. The Dems plan with immigration is to create a client class dependent on the government for a living. Also a ruling class of college educated functionaries dependent on the government for jobs. The plan is to harvest taxes from the Republican middle classes to fund all of this.

Time for a hearty Let’s Go Brandon!

  13. Jim – sure, but “natural conservatives” has been a meme since the 90’s, without yet making a significant dent in actual electoral outcomes. Mexico, the home of natural conservatives, was a one party state run by revolutionary socialists for 71 years in a row. It’s now run by “democratic” revolutionary socialists. Even when you successfully peel off aspirational ethnics, democracy doesn’t really “work” in a society of multiple competing demoseses, always devolves into an ethnic head count / racial spoils system (which is exactly what the US is, basically South Africa with less continent Big Men).

It’s also questionable to what degree peaceful political change is possible under a system where 95% of mass communication is controlled by three or four gargantuan global corporations who hate you and opposition is designated as a hate crime/domestic extremism worthy of getting your PayPal account frozen and Plod ringing you up to “check your thinking” on whether women can have big hairy cocks.

Apart from that, everything looks peachy for conservatives. Give it 5 years and they’ll be defending the TRADITIONAL 57 genders and the sacred institution of polyamorous owl fucker orgy-weddings.

Roue – I, for one, welcome our Strangely Brown Genderqueer Vaccine Panopticon As A Service

    Boganboy – ProudFEET!

Jimmers – what can men do against such reckless homosexuality?

  14. traditionally occupied by “The Sammamish, The Duwamish, The Snowqualmie, the Muckleshoot, the Snohomish, the Tulalip, and other Coast- Salish peoples since time immemorial.”

What, all at the same time?

Otherwise the relevant question is who had first dibs? Becuase they are the only ones to have a claim on the land.

  15. @Jim, Steve beat me to it, and was funnier than I was going to be, but anyway – the malignant poison of the American left seems stronger than ‘Asian’ values. Social media is full of Korean and Chinese Americans coming out with all the same batshit bullshit as white libs. Koreans FFS!

You might say: “These loons don’t represent Asian America” but the purple-haired owlqueer wypipo on Twitter don’t represent white America either. They are, however, in the ascendancy and Asians – especially the ones who can’t add up but do have low cunning and personality disorders – will recognise what ‘works’.

  16. @asianeen
Suggesting that no one actually occupying a piece of land or one group not controlling it is such a white European concept. These groups all lived in harmony and shared the bountiful natural resources in a sustainable manner, their oral history of raids and associated traditions* are just misunderstood.
Not a good land acknowledgment as they didn’t say ‘unceded’ that’s usually insisted on as standard form these days and if you want to be really picky Coast Salish is a European chosen label for a regional group. New Brunswick had to tell staff to stop using unceded when a legal case was launched over an old treaty as it was prejudicial to the case to publicly agree with the other sides claims

    * oars were decorated in such a way that one side identified your clan/tribe/nation and the other side was anonymous and when trading/visiting they would display the identification side and when raiding they would turned round to the anonymous side.

  17. ‘Allow folks to build pipelines, frack on Federal land, all that stuff.’

Instead, 10 to 1 they initiate (another) fruitless investigation into price fixing by energy companies.

  18. So, during the debates, when Trump was warning against shutting down pipelines, and all Joe could say was “Don’t you ever shut up, man?”

    Maybe Joe should’ve just listened.
