I’d only change one word

There are two ways to view the government. One is that it is one continual cock-up after another. There is a lot of evidence for that, especially at this moment. The other is to think that underneath the veneer of distracting mismanagement there are deeply cynical plans to make the UK a worse place to live for the majority who live here.

  1. Any/Every govt rather than “a” govt.

Surprised Spud had enough sense to write so insightful a paragraph.

Leaving aside his own plans for Marxist ruin of UK.

  2. Perhaps you could view a government as both. But I’d agree that cock-up is far more probable than conspiracy.

Of course I’ve worked for a government department.

  3. Government is not so much a malign conspiracy to fuck over the majority but rather a series of attempts to favour those minorities which are most vocal, most wealthy or most chummy with those in office.

Of course sometimes those in power try to implement grand ideas which they genuinely believe will benefit us all. That’s when we really get fucked.

  4. “Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by stupidity. But never rule out malice”.

No matter what political badge they wear, they are just thieving cunts intent on taking as much of your money as they can and spunking it on what THEY want it spent on.

  5. Well, most western governments appear to have invented a new variant of tax farming, (vax pharming?) Where they have promised big pharma to force the whole population to be vaxxed, whether they need it or not. What is the quid pro quo, I wonder?

  6. @RlJ

Seats on the board or non-executive directorships. Something where they do f*ck all but get loads of money for years.
It’s basically corruption without the brown envelopes.

  7. RlJ, there is so much money involved that a sum which would overcome just about anyone’s honest tendencies can be easily offered to everyone with influence. Together with a cover story that this was a good thing to do, and a hint that you’ve had a nice career, shame if..

Brown envelopes won’t hack it nowadays, cash is too bulky. But there are electronic methods.

  8. Pfizer and co are raking it in at $1,000 a second. In other words, about a quarter of the pre.covid NHS budget.
Serious moolah, to be defended by any and every means.
With the government still on the hook for any side effects under EUA.

Any attempts to introduce Vax passports are pure malice. We all know where that is going.
