So, bloke in C. Kouklia?
Nephew getting married there on Easter Sunday. Nice place or what? We should strain sinews to go or mutter about Eastern Med at that time of year?

We spent a week in Cyprus at Easter. We really enjoyed it, especially the Turkish side.
If he reads this blog Uncle Tim is going to be in trouble. Allowing strangers to decide something like that. Let’s hope he doesn’t tell his intended.
Kouklia is nice, a small village just up the road from me (Pissouri) and half way between Limassol and Pafos. A few bars and tavernas oh, and a reptile zoo…
Is it UK Easter or Cyprus Easter? Easter is the big celebration here (much bigger than Xmas) and there will be lots going on, parades, dancing, etc.
April 17 or April 24?
Was on holiday in Cyprus some years ago, at one of those resorts that do weddings. During one particularly loud and raucous reception, the hapless DJ started to play Jolene.
He didn’t get to play the whole song.

It will be quiet and the weather is likely to be shyte.
Can you expect the stamping on the glass thing? My ex’s previous was to a Cyp. According to her, she stamped on his foot. John’s now a good mate. We get together & swap war stories & compare wounds.
When we were in our tent in Happy Valley (down from Troodos) Pissouri beach was a favourite for a meal as one of the restaurants there did a fantastic Stifado. As that was 30+ years ago I suspect its changed a lot!
That will be Cyprus shite weather.
What they think of as nice weather us temperate folks think of as unbearably hot. Also, some of us prefer green rather than parched.
Which is why we chose Easter to visit there, not summer. Same for Croatia.

Not much has changed in the 20 years I’ve lived here, was it The Vineleaf by any chance…?
It mysteriously burnt-down at the beginning of lockdown last year but has been re-built and opened again recently.
That will be Cyprus shite weather.
A good point well made… It is 17 at the moment and will be 21 later – we are freezing!
Last week the magical transformation from brown to green started…

That sounds familiar. (But it wouldn’t be the only one.)
