Roe v Wade challenge: Supreme Court tilts towards new abortion limits

The actual decision is about whether this is a right in the Constitution, therefore something dealt with at Federal level, or something to be left to the States.

At least try to get this right. Before Roe New York – to take an example – was about as liberal as current law. Almost certainly would be again as well.

  1. Yes Rupert. That’s why the left love tribunals and committees and ‘international law’. Once they get some vague directive that can be endlessly reinterpreted, they get the bit between their teeth and we end up with some appalling tyranny.

When the pollies have to pass something, and their balls are on the line in the next election, they tend to be a bit more cautious.

    This:
“When the pollies have to pass something, and their balls are on the line in the next election, they tend to be a bit more cautious.”

Which is why they all loved the EU – it allowed the polls to outsource that bit that would cost them elections to people who didn’t have to worry about being elected.

That’s why – no matter how ghastly our pols almost certainly are – we needed to be out of the EU so that they could feel their balls on the line again properly…
