Tosser

The Prince marked World Aids Day by warning that not learning from mistakes made with the AIDS epidemic would be a “betrayal of the next generation”.

He said vaccinating the world is a “test of our moral character” and that there has been a “spectacular failure” over global access to Covid vaccines.

In a letter read out on the Duke’s behalf at a World Health Organization and UNAIDS event, said his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales – known for breaking the stigma around AIDS and HIV – would be “deeply grateful” to the scientific community for its tireless work.

But the Prince stressed: “It’s time to draw from the lessons we learned throughout HIV/AIDS, where millions died unnecessarily due to deep inequities in access to treatment.

I know this isn’t how we normally hear the story. But up until that time the race against AIDS was the most humongously successful, fast, equitable, fight against any disease ever. It took a decade from accurate analysis of what was happening to the invention of an entire new class of drugs, anti- (or retro-) virals. Something we’d never done before. Yes, it wasn’t fast enough for many but if someone like Freddie M had survived another year he’d likely still be with us.

The only one that tops that is the coronavirus response.

Quite how these miracles of modern industrial – for which read market and capitalist as no other system has managed to create an industrial – society are being regarded as failures grates, annoys, in fact leads to the desire to scream from the rooftops.

Sure, it ain’t all been perfect. But compared to what you fucking fool?

  1. Fun bit is…
If, in an alternate world, the then extremely new and expensive and highly experimental medicine had been distributed and, quite frankly, tested on the Poor Widdle Africans for free, the same lot of timewasters would have been complaining about the horrible exploitation and experimentation on the Poor Widdle Africans by Big Evil Pharma..
However successful the medication proved to be.

You just can’t win with that lot..

  2. Africa has a population of 1.3billion and 8 million cases of Covid. The UK has has 68 million people and 10 million cases. Using the vaccine in a place where the incidence is 25 times higher is good resource utilization.

  3. AndyF, most of the cases we have in the UK wouldn’t have been in the UK if those who had it had stayed where they were – in Africa.
I believe Saint Nige estimated that the wonder of the world that is ‘our NHS’ spends £1.2B per year on treating those with AIDS who arrived into this country from Africa carrying the illness.

  4. Crap Tim.

The Bogus Plandemic has been a scam from the start. What needs shouting is that mugs everywhere have fallen for it and will soon be under world-wide CCP-style social credit tyranny . Followed up by mass ruin and probably mass death as the Globo “elite” put their Green Marxist shite on you.

Which you have already swallowed save a few chokes.

If their is any sane future history written by free humans some where/when your name will feature with 100s of millions of other mugs and traitors.

  5. I do note that India did not recognise medical patents for quite a while. The Africans could do the same.

But of course after India had developed a pharmaceutical industry, if it did not recognise foreign patents the foreigners wouldn’t recognise those of the Injuns.

I also remember the rapidity with which a vaccine was developed for ebola. Vaccinating all the contacts and the medical staff worked very well indeed.

I suspect that these successes had quite a bit to do with the belief that the Western health establishment could also squash covid. The results of this show that nothing works all the time.
