So, that’s the election lost then

Democrats need to “get up off our rear ends” and work to bring down prices and runaway inflation, or face wipeout in November’s midterm elections, the Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren warns.

Nothing you do in May is going to change the inflation rate in November. Well, absent a dang great recession that is. What was actually required to affect this November’s inflation rate was to stop spending money, to raise interest rates, last May.

  1. Will Senator Warren thank her fellow Dem senator Joe Manchin I wonder? Without his principled stand on the Build Back Better bill, inflation would be higher still.

  2. What she means is that they need to find a way of manipulating the figures so that the official inflation rate comes down, and use that to sell another completely free, fair and incontestable election result.

  3. Isn’t it Democrat policy to increase prices and inflation to prevent Trump returning, erase racism, normalise gender Dysphoria and save the Planet?

  4. The Law Squaw is a hoot, isn’t she? Made a career by abusing Affirmative Action, her only evidence being family memories she’d concocted, and those Cherokee cheekbones.

  5. Fauxahontas still thinks that the Democrats only have a messaging problem. If only the media would push the narrative harder, people would realize all wonderful things progressives have done for them. Meanwhile people around the country are pumping gas that costs 50% more than last year along with food costing 30% more. In her ivory tower, inflation is for the little people. Let them eat free range, carbon neutral, ethical chicken.

I doubt that. Much of the damage done to the economy was the result of policies fully endorsed by Warren. Given this fact, it appears her warning takes on the aura of CYA posturing. Remember, Lizzie wants that nomination in 2024.

  7. The Democrats’ increasing unpopularity is a result of implementing or advocating for unpopular policies. So, they argue that they actually must accomplish the unpopular so as to become more popular.

Will the Dems lose the election? I certainly hope so, but don’t count on the Republicans not to blow it. I generally find the Republicans to be less harmful, but they ain’t all that bright either.

  8. That the blonde, blue-eye Warren passed herself off as an Indian for so many years suggests she didn’t have much access to mirrors growing up.

  9. I support the left. History shows the far right detest the working class. The far right see the working class as criminals and parasites.
In the UK PM Boris has spoken of the British working class as being criminal, lazy and drunk.
He also allowed an article in his magazine that called for extermination of the Scottish people.
Could you imagine England allowing a PM that called for the extermination of English people?
    Boris is far right.

  10. Of course, when it comes to how Pocahontas purports we bring down inflation, she begs us to tackle “price gouging.” Because it’s a result of the corporations being all corporation-y, you see. Not government poking its ass into everything.

She also talked at length about how Biden’s doing such a great job, but the DNC just needs to communicate that message better.

So, they’ve dialed a wrong number, and their solution is to dial it again, but press the numbers harder this time.

  11. Is that mortensen chappie for real?

Seems to spout formulaic nonsense, but if he’s real then it’s good to know he doesn’t Nigel et all are far right….

I suspect you’re the type who pauses from lecturing others about your great love for the proletariat to bitch out a waiter for bringing you a lavender latte without the chamomile garnish.

  13. “There is as much a plan to win the midterms as there was to airlift Afghans out of Kabul,” said one Democratic political adviser who remains close to the White House.

I think this quote says it all about Democrat chances in the next election.

  14. “Democrats need to “get up off our rear ends” and work to bring down prices and runaway inflation”

So they’re going to resign en masse and go into business?

“Is that mortensen chappie for real?”

Believe it or not, that’s what passes for mainstream discourse in ScotNat circles. If I had the wherewithal, I’d have fled to the relative sanity of the south years ago.

  15. ‘Could you imagine England allowing a PM that called for the extermination of English people?‘

No – but I could imagine Scotland doing so – in fact I don’t need to. They already have one who allows her supporters to do just that, even when the English door the bill for her profligacy

  16. BiTiN – You are a troll. Grow up.

Van_Patten & Sam Duncan – Scotland has not elected anyone who called for the extermination of the English. Grow up. I support all races and nationalities.
