Your explanation of current policy in your second large paragraph is the best one I’ve ever read about what can only be described as the economic penal system that imposed on the citizens of this and any many other countries.
It’s also just a comfort blanket for lazy central bankers so as not to upset their friends in high places and high income brackets.
Woeful.

I have to admit I thought that quite good…
In the early days of (white) jazz the impresarios realised that what the jazzmen wanted was audiences and beer.
Let’s be fair.. The one reason why ( in my case 20 years later), you *attempted* to pick up guitar playing in your teenage years wasn’t because of Love of Music…
And while other instruments have gained ground and have ( mostly) gotten rid of the anti-girl stench, nowadays it looks to me, judging from the kids around me, that the Lure of the Guitar on the female species at a certain age ( well any age, really..) is more or less the same.
Purely anecdotal/observational, but as far as I can tell the harmonica is a good runner up, and with the folk/metal scene going strong, funnily enough violin and, of all things, bagpipe and/or hurdy-gurdy are strong contenders.
Note that drums/bass guitar are a given, but they only work if they’re part of a band… ( and they tend to get the more… stable… girls….)
