The logic is not strong with this one

There’s a really nice piece in National Geographic about historians documenting the lives of trans people,

OK.

Other cultures acknowledged a third gender, including two-spirit people within Indigenous communities and Hijra, nonbinary people who inhabit ritual roles in South Asia.

The two points are in conflict with each other. A third gender does rather mean that folk aren’t crossing from one to t’other…..

  1. These are also cultures that can’t feed their children. Which is a useful metric on whether you should take any notice of them. Hence: So what?
Always been my response to people promoting eastern mysticism. Do they feed their children? No? Load of bollocks then. Fuck off.

  2. We did slavery to the black folks both in the past within the western culture but also in the present in islamist cultures.

That presumably should inform us on what to do now as well?

  3. Tranny by Gaslight

And here’s why the existence of primitive pygmy autocthons who have sex with Ourang-Outans and shit in their own drinking water proves I am a woman, bigot.

  4. Lol. Dressing in Mexican or Native American outfits is cultural appropriation, but taking an old cultural belief and bending it to tangential political ends is completely fine.

It’d be interesting to hear about these cultures position on pronoun use, gender roles and gendered spaces. I suspect they’re not convenient and therefore not so publicly discussed.

  5. But these primitives do try to feed their children.
Traditionally this was done by prizing virginity and late marriage in order to limit the numbers.
Hence the marriage of Afghani dirty old men to teenage brides, and a lot of homosexuality. (Or if you prefer, third gender.)

  6. “Other cultures acknowledged a third gender, including two-spirit people within Indigenous communities and Hijra, nonbinary people…”

That’s because they didn’t know about schizophrenia back then.

  7. I did wonder what had happened to the alluring Carrie, she’s been silent for while, such a cock tease.

  8. Unless they, to use the modern parlance, ‘assigned third gender at birth’, they quite obviously did acknowledge that people could ‘cross’ from one to another.
