Eunuchs are men who have had their bollocks chopped off because they don’t like them, an act of genital mutilation that we are these days somehow, mystifyingly, expected to condone.

Fairly frank statement there Rod.

  1. Rod Liddle has been quiet for some time and is only now starting to emerge after a hiatus. I suspect he was quite embarrassed having not been on the right side of covid lockdowns and erosion of civil liberties ie he proved to be quite a hypocrite twat. He often makes right kind of noises but when push came to shove he was a fucking pussy.

  2. “ because they don’t like them”

Often not, perhaps usually not, I thought, certainly if you look at more than the last decade or so.

In Europe, usually done to keep the singing voice. In more Eastern societies, to get a job in the harem or civil service where it was a requirement.

Perhaps there was sometimes a bit of personal preference underlying that decision, but I suspect usually not.

P.S. Kingsley Amis’ “The Alteration” is worth a read on this. Far too anti-Catholic for my taste, but an interesting attempt at looking at how an alternative society might have ended up.

  3. Remember a while back the police successfully prosecuted some strange types for consensually nailing their own bollocks to a coffee table or summat? ( don’t think it was the Piranhas)

  4. I don’t have a problem condoning someone having his goolies removed. It’s completely up to him, it’s no skin off my groin.

  5. Today I have been shocked by the racism directed towards the US supreme court judge, “coon”, “uncle tom”, “nigger”.

The far-right fascists nowadays, from Norway to USA and twitter, they spread their hate with gay abandon.

Yep, I’m still enjoying the fun.

They’re called counter-tenors – intact males, usually with a beard as they feel the need to demonstrate it, singing alto and soprano parts. In fact, most people can sing in a falsetto voice, it’s doing so melodiously that’s tricky.
