Well done for getting a mention on there at least. Proof (if we needed any more) that he does read this blog.
Of course as he himself concedes the company did nothing wrong but in his eyes the company and auditors should have restated the accounts at his request. Given he has written dozens of posts (indeed some might call it a ‘blog laden with abuse’)of

His blog these days is littered with insulting descriptions as fascists for those people, like me, who simply happen not to share his views or political leanings.

It is a bizarre argument. He is saying that if an item is deductible for tax it should be recognised in the accounts. He doesn’t seem to understand the difference between a war of accounts and a tax return.

It’s a common mistake amongst amateur accountants and amateur investors. They forever misunderstand that accounting systems and taxation systems are completely different systems that have different objectives and different rules. Given Murphy’s grasp of accounting, finance and economics it is unsurprising that he’s amongst the amateurs in this matter.

It’s a thing about the Spud. Just his blog photo & the expression on his mug. Let alone having seen the ape performing on TV. He’s got the sort of face & demeanour, for a certain sort of person – of which the world has a more than adequate supply – who take pleasure in this sort of thing, it’s one that’s just aching for a slap. The surprise & mystery is that it remains intact.

I’m all for deflating pompous, autoritarian egotists, and I’m in agreement about this particular twerp. What I have missed however is why Spud You (Don’t) Like in particular. It’s not like there aren’t a vast supply of such people in positions of malign influence.

The only response necessary is that you’ll take no lessons on ‘true and fair’ from the person who thinks a true and fair view requires companies accrue for the undiscounted cost of eliminating carbon from their supply chain.

Murphy is the whole package: He’s unintelligent, stupid, ignorant, uninformed, arrogant, self-righteous, pompous, intolerant and hateful. He hates liberty, personal agency and self-determination. He claims to love humanity but displays hate towards anyone who does not acknowledge his superiority in all matters. He is a totalitarian, and an impotent one at that.
There isn’t a single God-awful personality trait he doesn’t have. There isn’t a subject or topic he cannot mangle. He never listens and he never learns. He is neither self-aware nor aware of his surroundings. In earlier times he’d be the informer slipping into a Black & Tan headquarters, or the offices of the Stasi, the GPU, or the SD. He’d have denounced Jews, kulaks, capitalists and whatever ethnic minority was on the state’s short list. In his world problems are not solved by dispassionate analysis and hard work, they are solved by blaming someone/anyone that is disliked and vulnerable… And any old scapegoat will do.
I’ve often compared him to William McGonagall, but in truth if there was one person in history he reminds me of, it is Alfred Rosenberg.
Boris should have played the diversity/inclusivity card, his government has space for those that grope men as well as women, equal opportunities to be sexually harassed for the men as well as the women. Got to get the stats more equal after all, harassment equality gender gap being addressed etc

Ian,
It goes back to the early days of blogging. My memory is getting a bit hazy but here goes…
When Spud first started blogging Tim used to go to his blog and comment directly. Needless to say it didn’t take long for Spud to start getting angry and eventually banning Tim because he was losing so many argument. Tim then started making his comments on here and Spud used to come along to read them and argue with what Tim hadn’t said on his own blog, without giving Tim right of reply. Commenters from here would then pile on, eventually having to use pseudonyms because they were getting banned and of course Spud knew they were commenters here. (There then became quite an amusing line of commenters on Spuds blog, Stasi bosses was a particularly good one.)
At the same time Spud used to brag about how many page views he was getting so Tim stopped linking to his blog because no small amount were from here and also to stop him going up Google’s rankings as their algorithms were still quite simple.
It didn’t stop Spud attacking Tim in his usual style and that went on for a while, so it was becoming personal, but as you’ve noticed Spud was the gift that kept giving so he remained a target.
There was another amusing incident. Spud was bragging in his usual modest style about how he he’d been invited on to a some panel at an event in London. This went on for a few days then Tim pointed out he’d also been invited, at which point Spud spat his dummy in to orbit and demanded that Tim be disinvited or Spud wouldn’t go. I can’t remember if Tim was disinvited or if he hadn’t even accepted and wasn’t bothered because they didn’t cover expenses. Anyway, he went and Tim didn’t and Spud’s head grew another couple of hat sizes.
There’s probably a few more incidents I can’t remember.

I’ve been getting acquainted with this chap and his response to commenters. His MO appears to be that if someone points out a flaw in his thinking or an error in a calculation he will just respond with a pre-prepared cut and paste “I don’t think engaging with you is productive” type of post. He really is quite effeminate, but then again he is a leftist.

Shouldn’t have mentioned you’d also been invited.
He might not have noticed and then it would have been a lovely surprise on the night when everyone sat down on the panel seats.

It’s false to say this blog is laden with abuse. Honesty is never abuse.
Derision is the proper use of fellows like Richie. To deride him isn’t abusive at all.
Those who support his ideas are merely abusing him to their own ends. Lies are always an abuse.
