Don’t these people ever think?

‘Police don’t produce safety’: the Black feminist scholars fighting for abolition

Agreed, police don’t produce safety – but they provide some. At least, the deterrent effect of having an honest and efficient police force does exist.

But here’s the thing. Who suffered most from those times when an honest and efficient police force didn’t exist? As in, say, the American South under Jim Crow? Why it would be uppity blacks, wouldn’t it?

Unless they’re now saying that American society is so equal and measured that it wouldn’t be uppity blacks who would suffer again from the absence of any police at all – which their other rhetoric really doesn’t support btw, talking as they do of structural racism etc – then a campaign against what allows them to actually exist as public groupings seems most, most, odd.

Are you unaware that the police were created in the US to catch escaped slaves?

The people in BLM who claim to know so much about how law enforcement works tend to be the same people who ransack stores, run from the police and act all surprised when they get tackled to the ground.

We just recently had a BLM member who talked out of his ass on MSNBC about the need for gun control, and then got arrested for the attempted assassination of the Mayor of Louisville. It’s almost like it has nothing to do with any “systemic” issues and everything to do with criminals given carte blanche.

So are the police really there to protect you against scary, scary blacks who are obviously all criminals?

A good rule of thumb would to enact the diametric opposite of whatever black feminist scholars are hustling for.

These morons appear to subscribe to the tabula rasa theory of mind, whereby if L’teesha and DeShawn are simply showered with resources divested from the abolition of the police there will be little crime, and what remains can be dealt with “locally”, presumably by DeShawns uncle Delroy with his 3D printed Uzi.

Of course, little mention is made of who is going to deal with non street crime like money laundering, fraud, cybercrime etc

I say, give ’em what they demand, abolish the police.

Are USian police allowed to go on strike? The police themselves could give them a free sample.

I think what she is saying is that the police today are no different from post civil war police in the southern states who often were in cahoots with the KKK.

Now obviously that’s not true, so she would say that the oppression remains but is now covert. Blacks are not killed merely for being black but for resisting arrest etc etc.

Now my view is that the best demonstration of the utter wickedness of this position is to grant the progressives their wish and allow test communities to have a moratorium for say a 6 month period and then have a public vote at the end. I think reality will be strong corrective.

In CHAZ / CHOP the police were essentially abolished, and the result was the highest per capita murder rate in the world.

They do have a point, tho they probably don’t realise it.

30 years ago, US federal police decided to launch a paramilitary operation against the family of Randy Weaver, a man they’d fallen out with after the ATF unsuccessfully tried to entrap him in an illegal weapons sting.

So cops dressed up as commandos rocked up near Mr Weaver’s remote rural home where he wasn’t bothering anybody, and shot dead his son Sammy. Sammy was 14 years old and not wanted for any crime. They shot him in the back. The burst of automatic fire nearly severed the boy’s arm from his dying body. Then they shot his dog (killing family pets is a specialty of Septic cops).

Then they blew Mr Weaver’s wife’s head off with a high powered sniper rifle. She was holding her 10 month old baby when a federal agent decided to put a .308 round through her skull. Vicki Weaver also wasn’t wanted for any crime.

As a result of this public sector murder spree, several federal agents were eventually given minor administrative punishments. The FBI still publicly boasts about its killing of an unarmed mother holding a baby, celebrating the event on Twitter earlier this year. (Anybody who’s been watching the political dynamic at work in the US since the proles were temporarily able to elect a non-Establishment figure for president knows why)

This is all shocking stuff, but it’s not really that unusual. Yank cops routinely break into people’s homes, point guns in their faces, and shoot their pets on the flimsiest of excuses. The alphabet agencies are constantly looking for people and groups they can infiltrate and radicalise – seems very likely that most domestic terrorist attacks in the USA are organised by the FBI. Laws simply don’t apply to certain types of people in America, which is why the Clintons aren’t in jail and why they’ll try to imprison Donald J Trump for the rest of his life.

Steve, Vicki Weaver was shot through the throat while holding her baby by FBI Sniper Lon Horiuchi. It took her 20 minutes to die. FBI/ATF refused to allow any medical assistance.

Watch the docudrama ‘Waco’; it’s an absolute eye-opener…

Sniper Lon Horiuchi and Lt Michael Byrd should get together over a beer sometime and compare notes about how they both got away with killing the right sort of unarmed woman.

I’m all for defunding Plod. In the UK, there would need to be some arrangement for victims of burglary etc to get crime numbers for their insurers (perhaps the major role of Plod), but I reckon even Crapita could organise this. Meanwhile, a year of vigilante justice would give the public a chance to show what they consider to be suitable punishment for crime.

I suspect it would work even better in the US, because so much murderous criminality is concentrated in a limited number of urban areas. And the people who live outside these urban areas tend to be well-armed. Once the inner city fires had cooled, Yanks might find their crime problem self-solving.

I am tempted to compile a list (I suspect it would be a short list) of topics on which Hitler was right or, at least, prophetic.

One contender must be his belief that the USA was a country of gangsters.

Do they realise that if they get rid of Police, the result will be a lot more dead blacks?

I’m guessing that the grifters imagine that with their new found wealth administering the river of funds from defunding the police to the black community (don’t forget “Buy Large Mansions!”), they will be able to secure for themselves a home outside those shattered communities, so the rise in black deaths wouldn’t affect them directly and indirectly probably enables more grifting, so from the race grifters perspective it’s a win win.

From the perspective of the “white racists” (all of us according to some of the leftwing race movement), more blacks killing themselves would be a win win as well.

So the only losers would be the poorest of the blacks stuck in their benighted communities. That’s the logical end point of Defund the Police. More black neighbourhoods would become like the worst parts of Baltimore and Detroit.

Waco (the miniseries, not the incident) was incredible. They did a great job on the research, consulting with both Thibodeaux and the FBI negotiator guy for the story. Like Koresh said, “You guys could’ve picked me up in town anytime. I’m the one driving the ’68 Camaro.” They briefly mention Ruby Ridge in the show, but I remembered seeing a TV movie version of it back in the ’90s. Kirsten Dunst and Randy Quaid (who plays Randy Weaver) are in it.

It’s important to realize that Timothy McVeigh got much of his inspiration for the Oklahoma City bombing from seeing these two crises unfold, and he was actually present at Waco to witness the raid. Obviously he was a piece of shit, but goes to show that gross overreach from the government is a better motivator for violent extremists than any “hate speech.” It either breeds brainwashed minions or resentful lone wolves.

Of course, if what happened in Uvalde doesn’t convince you the government’s resources are incompetent, to put it lightly, then I don’t know what will.

Still doesn’t mean you can grab for a cop’s gun, or point a weapon at them without getting your just desserts, despite what a previous poster was brainfarting. Also pretty sure they’ve never looked at actual crime stats in their life. Or even an episode of COPS or LivePD.

Couple of things to note:

First: Mariame Kaba has a Masters in Information and Library Science and has never held a position of any sort at an institution of higher learning. She is not a scholar. She’s a trained librarian who has never actually been a librarian.

Second: Andrea Ritchie is an attorney and has never held a position of any sort at an institution of higher learning. She is not a scholar. She’s a trained attorney at law.

So, they are not black feminist scholars, they are black feminist activists. There is a difference, and the difference is important.

It is worth noting that published crime statistics invariably show that the majority of violent crimes in just about any USA jurisdiction are intraracial, i.e., black on black, white on white, hispanic on hispanic. They also show, just as invariably, that on a per capita basis the higher rate of violent crime involves blacks. So, abolition of police and prisons would impact, disproportionately, black communities… And not in a good way. Kaba and Ritchie are well aware of these facts, and choose to ignore them.

Why?

Well, they’re both making good livings selling white guilt to white liberals. It’s the Ibram X. Kendi, Ta-Nehisi Coates grift. Highly educated and successful black public intellectuals bleating about the awfulness of the country where they’ve succeeded. White liberals eat it up; the guiltier they’re made to feel the happier they are. Why? That guilt makes them morally superior to other whites.

Kaba and Ritchie are what Thomas Sowell called ‘liberal pets’.

Malcolm X called them ‘House Negroes’.

This isn’t about police or prison reform. This is a good old-fashioned race hustle.

The movie you’re thinking about with Randy Quaid as Randy Weaver was a TV movie (so usual quality standards apply), but it’s on YouTube, so feel free to watch / download.

The Siege at Ruby Ridge (1996)

As others have said, Government oppression and excess (both Ruby Ridge AND Waco) are what lead to over reactions like Oklahoma City by the paranoid.

True. But in this case neither is actually doing – or has done – scholarly work.

The Guardian clearly wishes to disguise the fact that they are simply activists and nothing more.

This is just one example, but an accurate one, of the level of ignorance we often find in the activist realm:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfi3Ndh3n-g

Seriously, they “demand action” first and ask questions later. That’s why even when someone says “children are dying,” I need to see receipts before I start giving a shit.
