It’s the way this is put which is so concerning

Fertility clinics are tightly regulated by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA). Donors are limited to ten families and undergo medical and psychological checks to qualify. However, private transactions between men and women exist outside the HFEA’s jurisdiction. There are no limits on the number of children they can have — one claims to have fathered more than 800 — parental rights are uncertain, and there is no safeguarding during the “insemination” process.

Because you can just see the next line not so gently forming in the air, can’t you? That such should be regulated. Who may have children and by whom *should* be something The State defines.

  1. Can’t read, as it’s behind a paywall, but the headline makes me think someone thought ‘The Boys From Brazil’ was an instructional manuscript…

  2. Maybe we could forbid sex outside marriage and reduce the rights of children born outside marriage, maybe even invented some derogatory term to describe the mothers and the children. Sounds like a new revolutionary idea

  3. Nice Emil. Perhaps we could even deem those ‘children’ non-persons, who should properly be aborted.

There would naturally be no difference between the treatment of pre and post birth non-persons.

  4. Just read Martin Sixsmith’s “Spin”, which has his ‘New Labour’ analogue doing exactly this: all childbirth to be licenced. It’s very carefully plotted to make the drip-by-drip introduction not only horribly plausible, but welcome by the masses.
    A good read.
New Labour has gone, but the politicians and the Peter Mandlebrot (ahem) clones remain.

  5. The White breeding rate is now down to 1.2 — needs to be 2.4 to sustain a population.” He posted about the erasure of white men in Britain and the “invasion” of Europe by women in burqas.

I love how the MSM no longer makes even a token effort to pretend this isn’t true, instead they just point and shriek.

“These men are not ‘donors’ at all,” said Erika Tranfield, founder of Pride Angels, a website that connects donors with gay and lesbian couples and single people. “They are predators.”

We’ve got to stop these *predators* and ensure children are safely available to, eh, gay men.

One “red flag” clinics look out for, said Dr Jackson Kirkman-Brown, specialist in human fertility science at Birmingham University, was someone trying to “propagate their genes”. “We want donors doing this altruistically,”

We want sperm donors who don’t want to propagate their genes.

  6. Anyway, just a minor point about fertility, because it’s a subject that certain types of white men on the internet tend to blackpill about incessantly, and tediously, and in ways that stimulate fear and anxiety instead of useful purpose.

There’s no reason to believe the Current Thing will continue along the same trend line forever, because that’s not what Current Things tend to do.

There is reason to believe that the introduction of ubiquitous cheap, reliable contraception in the late 20th c. – which was a technological and social revolution every bit as profound as the Industrial one – has created a kind of Great Filter like you sometimes see in the history of evolution (previous ones including lactose tolerance in Europe, or the Permian-Triassic boundary, or whatever). We’re still passing thru that filter.

If it turns out there’s a heritable component to the desire to make babies, we’re currently just seeing a self-deselection of the people who don’t strongly carry those traits. The gene pool will therefore, over time, be increasingly dominated by people who like stepping on Legos, and who can be bothered to fuck their spouse.

Whites hit the Great Filter early because we, and here’s where we should unironically apologise to our black and Asian friends, invented the modern world. (Sorry, it is rather shit) But we’re not unique, everybody eventually has to pass thru the Filter. East Asia hit the Filter not long after we did.

Pre-Filter it didn’t matter very much what your intentions were, because babies were an inevitable consequence of opening a bottle of Liebfraumilch and putting on a Barry White LP. No real selection pressure one way or t’other. Post-Filter, intention is king.

That doesn’t mean the fertility crisis isn’t serious or that the collective we should do nothing, or that there aren’t other modern socio-cultural-econonic factors hindering family formation, or that multiculturalism isn’t shit. But it does mean people should chill the fuck out and stop being depressing cunts or monomaniacal racist speds.

At least the wankers in this article are actually doing something about their concerns, so fair play to them I spose.

  7. Jones’s affiliation with a fascist group would probably be picked up and he would be banned from donating.

Why? Does the the more sciencey approach believe that sperm carry the political ideology of the donor, like panzers blitzkrieging through the Ardenne?

  8. Think you’re talking a load of shit, there Steve. It’s not a heritable component in the desire to make babies. It’s a cultural component. Evident in the numbers who come from families who previously spawned large broods but in the current generation few or none. It’s a cultural change they’ve been through, not a genetic. For the British Isles, Catholic Irish would be a fine example. The less priest ridden they’ve become, the less kids
Problem is that cultures evolve in much the same way as organisms. Except much faster. Some cultures are evolving up a cultural dead end. They aren’t producing enough replacements to preserve the culture. Other cultures are producing surpluses & becoming more numerous. One can pretend that the more wealthier people become, the smaller the families they seek. That’s just because you’re averaging over all cultures. With some cultures, increasing wealth is an incentive to have more.
Be interesting where this trend will take the UK. At the moment the cultures produce the most wealth are subsidising the ones that produce the most offspring. That can’t continue ad infinitum.

  9. BiS – Think you’re talking a load of shit, there Steve.

    Quite possible.

It’s not a heritable component in the desire to make babies. It’s a cultural component.

It’s possible you’re wrong, but otoh I’m not hung up on genetics, culture is also a heritable trait. Our culture, as presently constituted, is rotten and nobody will miss it.

    That can’t continue ad infinitum.

Obviously not, so we can either fear the future or look for the possibilities it offers to do something better. Neither are necesser-celery “rational”, but rationalism is overrated. Cheerfulness is a more useful survival trait than constant anxiety.

If your situation was hopeless, they wouldn’t need to demoralise you.

  10. It’s a cultural change they’ve been through, not a genetic.

To be fair, Steve’s whimsical notion was that a change was taking place, not that it had happened. “We’re still passing thru that filter.”

It’s not a heritable component in the desire to make babies.

Whoa, now it’s you talking shit; possibly the least scientific thing you’ve typed. The mating urge is what makes the biological world go around, and humans are programmed with it as much as other beings. Shagging is still prevalent, even if our technical culture has temporarily intervened with the outcome.

In gentle isolation, Steve’s scenario would play out. Those with a strong desire for actual babies would out compete those with a desire for things that aren’t actual babies. It would be a very effective and (evolutionarily speaking) quick acting filter.

Of course, there will be no gentle isolation and baby making will return by some combination of other pressures, not many of them pleasant.

  11. There’s no reason to believe the Current Thing will continue along the same trend line forever, because that’s not what Current Things tend to do.

Well, “Current Thing” is a Current Thing, so at least we can look forward to Paul Joseph Watson sneering about plebs with some other memey catch phrase.

Then again, some Current Things flow for a jolly long time; 1400 years or so for Jesus.

But it does mean people should chill the fuck out and stop being depressing cunts . . .

    Indeed.

Our culture, as presently constituted, is rotten and nobody will miss it.

Say no end of depressing cunts, from Extinction Rebellion through Mermaids to the Ayatollahs.

I don’t think it’s rotten, it’s just a neglected garden that needs us to get off our arses and do some weeding*.

    * Chainsaws and flamethrowers available for the really overgrown and tangled bits.

  12. PJF – Say no end of depressing cunts, from Extinction Rebellion through Mermaids to the Ayatollahs.

Funnily enough, that’s who I was thinking of. We’re in a weird moment in history where people promoting the antisocial, degenerate, retarded things the British establishment thoroughly agrees with and actively subsidies present themselves as freethinking radicals in imminent danger from some kind of shadowy far-right plot (like in the execrable article Tim links to above). I don’t think the Pharisees or Cromwell’s major-generals pretended to be a put-upon minority but our society weirdly privileges the most pathetic.

Chainsaws and flamethrowers available for the really overgrown and tangled bits.

From your lips to God’s cats.

  13. “Whoa, now it’s you talking shit; possibly the least scientific thing you’ve typed. The mating urge is what makes the biological world go around, and humans are programmed with it as much as other beings. ”
If that was true we’d still be above replacement rate
“Shagging is still prevalent, even if our technical culture has temporarily intervened with the outcome.”
The shagging part is what we’re programmed for. Nothing else. With the consequences no longer inevitable, intervention has become almost the rule.

  14. While families in western Europe and the USA seem to be restricting families to only two children, visitors to those shores originating from middle eastern countries, seen to have no compulsion about an extended brood, which will be paid for, in on so many ways, by the original citizens of those countries. Already, the majority of people in California either speak Arabic or Spanish as their first language. In the UK midlands, try and find someone with English as their first language. Two or three generations from now, the local authorities, senior officials in law and social care departments will probably have “Al” or “bin” somewhere in their names. They don’t have to fight us to take over. They only have to outbreed us.

  15. Some bloke on't t'internet

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiocracy

On the subject of donations being made outside of official channels, I did once look this up out of curiosity (a relative was looking into being a recipient for such services). Apparently, in law you can donate via a proper clinic and there’s no legal comeback – i.e. someone can’t come after you for child support or whatever a few years down the line. But if you enter into a private arrangement, then in law the donor is considered the father and so there is a risk of a disgruntled client, a child, or the state coming after you for maintenance payments etc (or just recognition of parentage). Just think, if someone claims to have 800 children, it doesn’t need a significant proportion of those to result in some sort of action to “somewhat dent” your life.

  16. So Some Bloke, one does wonder when the jihad against these wicked law breakers’ll take place.

The difficulty is that it’d be hard to drive a stake through the hearts of the donors without revealing details about their ‘victims.’ So the ‘publish and be damned’ lot will win as usual.

The 800-kid-producer should certainly benefit from the free publicity about his prowess.

  17. Steve,

“It’s possible you’re wrong, but otoh I’m not hung up on genetics, culture is also a heritable trait. Our culture, as presently constituted, is rotten and nobody will miss it.”

But it’s genetics that wins in the end. Because smart people will ignore culture, see through the bullshit.
