What’s the point of being a musician any more?

Three women who were fans of the indie rock group accused Butler of making unwanted sexual advances and demands between 2016 and 2020 in interactions that they deemed inappropriate because of gaps in age and unequal power dynamics.

If the only groupies you can touch are those the same age as you?

Two of the women said the alleged abuse had an emotional toll in part due to the transactional nature of their sexual interactions with Butler.

Whut?

“I felt incredibly low,” the woman told Pitchfork. “The toll of having to keep everything secret, constantly pushing my needs aside in order to appease him, lack of boundaries, and the guilt of being the other woman was getting too hard to ignore.”

  1. It’s literally a “Who’s That?” of the music world:

Am I so out of touch for still listening to Billy Idol?

No, it’s the children who are wrong.

  2. Bloke in the Fourth Reich

It looks like the proportion of undergraduates receiving “unwanted sexual advances” is now down to 1 in 4.

The neo-puritan (but transgender and pedophilia OK) movement, aided and abetted by pornhub, is clearly having the intended impact. The old joke about “what where those who didn’t get unwanted sexual advances doing wrong?” no longer works.

This seems to be the popular refrain of “I’ve made a mistake and it’s everybody else’s fault” again.

Yours is the fate of all sluts, dear: Men use what you offer them and then throw you away when something better walks through the door.

  6. “Unequal power dynamics”
I can only imagine the Marxian garbage pumped into this bints head.

Didn’t stop Led Zeppelin having their way with 13 / 14 year olds

  7. Steve,

“It’s literally a “Who’s That?” of the music world:”

Arcade Fire are reasonably well known. Not up with your Coldplays, but not that obscure. I own Funeral, which is pretty good. Wake Up is probably their best song. They also have a banging live cover of Poupee de Cire… by Serge Gainsbourg.

  8. What’s the end game here, alimony for groupies?

Yet again, the cheapest women are the ones you pay up front.

  9. Two of the women said the alleged abuse had an emotional toll in part due to the transactional nature of their sexual interactions with Butler.

If their interaction was transactional then it can’t have been abusive.

  10. They also have a banging live cover of Poupee de Cire… by Serge Gainsbourg.

Should have stuck to Les Sucettes.
