Odd how in 1939 etc we could do things now impossible apparentlyRe has supplies – there is no price mechanism that can guarantee supply to this who need it now
One definition of need is willing to pay for it…..
I bet we couldn’t construct two Mulberry Harbours today in under a year, in secret.
Werrlll, he’s sort of right. The price mechanism has not created a supply of teleporters.
This is the standard of commentary
There will be no deviation from the unrelenting extreme right wing policies of the past 12 years
– lockdown of the population to save a sage run health care system
– importing immigrants equivalent to three cities the size of Birmingham
– institutionalising discrimination against indigenous white people across every sector of the economy
These policies are ‘extreme right’ ? I know the Overton window has shifted but really?
I shouldn’t have made that comment earlier. I now have the thought that the Second World War would have run on until 1950, because neither the Allies nor the Germans could get their armies to the battles on time and neither would be allowed to fight because they weren’t diverse enough.
I bet we couldn’t construct two Mulberry Harbours today in under a year, in secret.
Given the amount of surveillance and intelligence systems around, a large chunk of it open source, you wouldn’t be able to build them in days.
That’s in no small part why Russia’s invasion of Ukraine got off to such a bad start and never recovered, it was known exactly where they were building up their forces and their Orbat, so Ukraine was at least able to defend Kiev effectively.
It also in part why Ukraine’s current offensive is more like a series of probing attacks along a wide front rather than a bit armoured push. Even Russia’s incompetence would have spotted the build up of a large armoured attack force.
