However, her discrimination claims were dismissed following a hearing at the Central London Employment Tribunal. Judge Holly Stout said Ms Wei was “oversensitive” and an “unreliable witness” who sometimes “embellished or distorted the truth”.
It was found that the comment about a figure-hugging dress never happened, and that the requests for her to babysit her boss’s children were intended as a joke and did not amount to discrimination.
Judge Stout added: “We consider that there were elements of the [bank’s] culture that were discriminatory towards and/or degrading of women, but that these elements were confined to ‘office banter’ or ‘loose language’ rather than being symptomatic of any general culture of less favourable treatment of women.

Just an observation, but it does seem to be women judges who are less likely to believe women’s BS in court…
A nice local example.
There’s a bloke in our village (mid-seventies, quietly-spoken, churchgoer) who used to be a volunteer looking after a patch of heathland. He maintained fences, footpaths, and ponds, and stopped the silver birch from taking over. The land is managed by a charitable trust, a bit like a local quango.
A couple of summers ago, he was out with a gang of old boys doing some work. They were joined by one of the full-time paid staff from the trust, a woman in her late twenties who he had previously got on well with. On greeting her, he referred to her “lovely brown legs”, intending, he says, to merely comment on her suntan.
You can guess the rest. She downed tools and disappeared. He was summoned to the office, and told that they didn’t need his services, and that he was to collect his tools and leave immediately.
These days, he seems a bit bewildered, insisting that he didn’t mean any harm and that the last thing he would do is to comment on a woman “in the way they thought I did”. And the heathland is rapidly deteriorating, as most of his volunteer friends left as well.

I think I can see the problem here.
Her problem was she wasn’t brown enough. Chinese isn’t ‘diverse’ enough for the judges on these panels to worry about being accused of racism for throwing the case out. If she was from Nigeria she’d have her cash right now, and some extra on top just so the judge could virtue signal that they really really weren’t a racist…….

Whenever some young filly came to me to complain about inappropriate behaviour in the office, I was always sympathetic and asked her to sit on my knee and tell me all about it.

In this rare instance I have no qualms about the astronomic legal fees this (allegedly he says carefully) shameless grifter will be obliged to pay, unless she pulls an Amber Turd and tries to sue her brief.

This is the bit which always gets me about these stories. 1) The casual revelation that there are people out there pulling in a monkey a day in wages; and 2) That the people in question always seem to be ones like this.
