It was the backlash against gang violence — blamed largely on young men of foreign origin — that powered the anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats to 20.5 per cent of the vote and second place in the general election last Sunday, prompting a wave of soul searching in this traditionally liberal country. Commentators spoke of a “political earthquake”.
Do the folks have a say or not?
About 20 per cent of Sweden’s present population was born abroad, double the number two decades ago.
??
’…blamed largely on young men of foreign origin…’
Wait, ‘blamed’ implies that’s not true.
Shall we look at the names of the arrestees, because I’m doubting Bjorn and Benny will feature amongst them in any large number…
I think it was some American politician who said: ” The People have spoken; the bastards…”
The joy of the comment is that it was a failed American politician who said that…..
Yes, ISTR it was on hearing he’d lost his seat.
Yeah, it’s all those Finns solving their turf wars with the Norwegians with knife fights, innit.
Whilst most of us are irritated about the overrepresentation of ethnic faces on our television, the fact remains that half of children now being born in England are to families whose grandparents didn’t originate here. One of The Times young female journalists recently did a take on her colleagues and discovered that, like her, none has a grandparent that was born in Britain. The Times They Are A-Changin’.
I must say there does seem to have been a bit of a sea change in Sweden. I can remember being in a bar here had a TV showing the Tottenham riots. And being heavily criticized by some Swedish geezer & bint for observing the tint of the rioters. Now it’s hard to to talk to any Swede (or Finn) without them bringing round the subject of their immigrant hordes.

Indeed. And we can see the result in the streets of Leicester last night…
Someone once said something prophetic, ‘rivers of..’ something or other, wasn’t it?
Julia, this has been with us forever. Look at this week’s aggro between Glasgow Rangers and Celtic/Dundee supporters. The more diverse we become, the increased potential there is for tribal redoubts.
As Michael Malice tends to say, “There is nothing you can do about it but stay mad.” Kind of the polar opposite of Klaus Schwab.

The country hasn’t changed at all. The difference is that one party is offering something voters really want.
If the liberals kept all their policies except that on immigration, they’d still be in power.
There’s plenty of liberal politicians out there that realise this. Saint Jacinda, much loved as she is by those that don’t live under her, is solidly anti-immigration. She doesn’t say it out loud, of course, but her government has been resolute in reducing immigration to the point that the right wing parties are complaining.
Hey Bernie! – you’re not supposed to notice the Great Replacement is actually happening!
My person position is: I don’t care how *ethnically* mixed a culture is, but it’s being *culturally* mixed that causes problems. You don’t get problems with people wanting to come to Britain to be British and be part of British culture. You get problems when people come to Britain and refuse to be British, and hate everything British and want to destroy it. You can’t have a multicultural culture, it’s an oxymoron.

The names of Leicester Square cop killer and the HRH EIIR coffin flag removal both begin with M
RoP queues for hours to desecrate Queen’s coffin – that says a lot
