Elon Musk’s epic bumbling is a daily reminder that America is not a meritocracy
As the Supreme Court considers affirmative action, Musk’s antics show exactly how white privilege works
Immigrant boy turns up with what was it, $8,000? Creates four start ups on the trot (Zip2, PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla) and becomes the richest man in the world. Sure, subsidy sucker and all that. But this is now used as proof that America is not, repeat not, a meritocracy.
Jeez, that’s dumb even by Amanduh’s standards.
. . . Trumpian wisdom like telling people to inject bleach into their lungs to cure COVID-19 . . .
Stupid, ignorant bitch and/or lying cunt.
An exceptional example to other hardworking African Americans.
@PJF: both, actually…
“The specific political distinction to which political actions and motives can be reduced is that between friend and enemy.”
― Carl Schmitt
Zuckerberg, Bezos and Soros, good; Thiel, Trump and Musk, bad.
Meritocracy, like intellectual, is word which, to the left, means something other that its etymology would suggest. In this case rule by the party faithful.
How much does LeBron make to dribble a ball? Hell, how much does the average American pencil-pusher make to answer phone calls and e-mails all day?
“Elon Musk’s epic bumbling is a daily reminder that America is not a meritocracy”
Actually it’s an endorsement of the very thing being decried here. If Musk cocks up he loses money, that’s also meritocracy. The egregious part comes in when business that cock up get bailed out by the taxpayer. That’s not meritocracy, it’s cronyism and every country has its share of that.
What would she say about Oprah? Obama?
I thought that the Left didn’t want a meritocracy. I thought that they wanted equality of outcome, which in practice means hamstringing those with merit so that those without merit can keep up.
