So, the majority then

Difficult to do doctoring or nursing from home:

Menopausal women in NHS allowed to work from home
Health chief Amanda Pritchard says staff could be given lighter duties and cooler uniforms and urges other employers to follow suit

Ah, yes, silly me. This is the bureaucrats, the admin staff isn’t it – the majority.

  1. The changes could mean thousands of staff take are off (sic) front-line duties at a time of record pressures

Not just the bureaucrats as further confirmed by the reference to cooler uniforms. Unless of course this refers to the thousands of staff on the front-line of the critically important diversity and equality struggle.

Anyway shouldn’t it be “menopausal people”.

  2. Anybody going to quantify mental health problems in the menopausal? We have the story on teenagers, above. I’ve noticed myself that pregnant women and new mothers are universally nuts. Spinsters and Guardian columnists too. Easier to list the sane.

  3. Only pay clinical staff when they treat actual not virtual patients and let them divvy up the sum for whatever staff they regard as necessary to maximise throughput. Motivation matters and presently all the incentives favour whingers.

  4. “Health chief Amanda Pritchard says staff could be given lighter duties and cooler uniforms and urges other employers to follow suit”

And are they going to get lighter pay to go with it?

I mean, if these women can’t currently work from home, that suggests a loss of productivity if they do. Why should the taxpayer pick up the cost?

  5. But if they are all going to be at home who is going to do the vital work of making videos of dancing in the hospital corridors?

  6. Amanda Pritchard urges other employers to follow suit.
If she thinks the NHS is an example to be followed the men in white coats can’t be far away.

  7. You can buy little endoscopes to plug into mobile phones these days.

I wouldn’t want to be part of the Chinese espionage section assigned that task!
