Entirely fair and reasonable don’t you think?

British lawmaker Virginia Crosbie, of the Conservative Party, has revealed she wears a stab-proof jacket to meetings with constituents……The member of parliament for Anglesey / Ynys Mon

I find that going west of Millmead Rd engenders a certain trepidation, Saltford is worrying and Keynesham is definitely it. Further west than that and having to actually meet the people? Converse with them? Stab vest sounds like much too little protection to me.

  1. Stab vests are the market’s way of telling them they done fucked up. But they’re too stupid to get the message.

  2. To be honest Tim, my impression of the UK before I left was anywhere west of Great Yarmouth a stab-vest would be advisable.
And as an aside, I do actually carry a scar from a stabbing. Right hip. About two inches long. Hit the bone & hurt like hell. But not nearly as much as the bloke who inflicted it. Why it was self attended to & not reported.

  3. It was the long johns that they sell that made me chuckle.
Not having one might remove the chuckle.
Quite a lot of serious & fatal stab wounds are in that region. Unfortunately the sort of people inflict knife wounds didn’t box at public school.

  4. When I was a kid, a black man cut my belly open.

When I was a kid, a black man saved my life.

Yep, both true, and the same incident. He was a surgeon, and I had a burst appendix.

It was a long time ago, and I had no idea that black people really existed.
