Really now, really

But in the “call for supervisors” on Feb 6, lecturers were told: “The programme will be advertised for second or third year UG [undergraduate] students from Black, British Black, Pakistani, Bangladeshi or British-Pakistani, British Bangladeshi students studying at traditional research-intensive universities, who are planning to continue their studies in 2024.”

Why only Musslmen from the subcontinent and not Hindoos? Is they bein’ racist?

The university’s School of Arts and Humanities internally promoted “an exciting new widening participation project” that will “give an opportunity for students from under-represented groups to experience postgraduate research at Cambridge”.

Yep they is

  1. Maybe Cambridge is doing “white working-class” potential students a favour by not allowing them to lumber themselves with huge debts in order to pay for an essentially useless qualification.

  2. If you’re going to discriminate against the majority population, do what American Universities do – don’t advertise it, just do it.
What are British-Pakistani and British Bangladeshi? I thought the British were the English, Scots, Welsh and Irish…

  3. Wow! Diane Abbot had it right for once. White people are playing divide and rule. Muslim Bengalis welcome, Hindu Bengalis shut out.

Great! I hope that Hindu Council UK (yes, it’s a thing) sues the pants off the buggers.

  5. Here’s a thought..
Maybe the groups that are “under-represented” here, are so because any lad/lass that’s stupid enough to choose this …career… and tell their parents, will feel the effects of The Slipper from mom, followed by some percussive attitude re-adjustment by dad..

Lawyer, doctor, engineer, even hard science? Gets a Pass from the Parents.
Liberal Arts and the Humanities? ummm… yeaaahhhhh… Good luck with that…
