Being nastier than the Frogs, and addicted to good old-fashioned customs, I’d burn Micron at the stake.
It seems to be da yoof who are doing the protesting, which is odd.
Or maybe it’s not. Reminiscent of the days of soccer hooligans v the fuzz, mods and rockers, etc.
French plod is the least woke in Europe and enjoy a good bash against the citizenry.
It looks like the extreme left (but I repeat myself) are hoping for a triumphant replay of 1968. So obviously the brain-dead yoof are the standard bearers.
One of the endearing things about the French in general is that they truly believe at almost an instinctive level that it is the responsibility of the State to provide them with the necessities of life, which are of course defined as “anything I’ve ever had”.
And their complete lack of belief in the idea that if you have an elected government, you should mostly let them get on with it: you can always undo what they do if there are sufficient of your opinion at the next election. But no. Endearingly, they want socialist government, and yet when they get it (vide Paris), they still strike.
It’s the endearing naivety of 13 year olds in adult bodies. But it does mean that France is ungoverned and ungovernable.
But they did nothing when their freedoms were eroded and normal life made impossible unless masked and vaccinated.
(i) The people rioting are far too young to give a hoot about the retirement age. They’re just enjoying a good rammy.
(ii) Bordeaux Town Hall is far too lovely to be left to the mercies of these brutes.
(iii) A sensible compromise is that the rioters hang the MPs and President and then the police shoot all the rioters.

Indeed. I can remember walking across that square one absolutely perfect July evening. A moment one felt privileged to be alive & there. Bordeaux is a wonderful city. I think my favourite in Europe.
The doors the videos show being torched just lead to a courtyard. So I wouldn’t think the building’s suffered much. Just hope the restaurants opposite weren’t trashed. Best tartare de boeuf I’ve ever scoffed. So good I ordered seconds.
‘A sensible compromise is that the rioters hang the MPs and President and then the police shoot all the rioters.’
I concede your point dearieme.
