Haiti: at least 12 suspected criminals beaten to death and burned in capital

Didn’t realise our new business to deal with XR had opened a foreign subsidiary already.

  1. In a statement posted on Facebook, Haiti’s national police said its officers had intercepted a group of suspected smugglers travelling in a minibus but that subsequently more than 12 of those men were “unfortunately lynched by members of the population”

    Sad reacts only, guys.

  2. I understand the Yanks have tried to persuade the Canadians to intervene. Wisely Trudeau has said, ‘No thanks.’

That’d be almost as stupid as the Saudis and UAE intervening in Yemen.

  3. Not surprising the Canadians refused…
The only way to save that hellhole would be a Full Reset after a full military invasion, Carthage style.

And all the Canadians could possibly do is perhaps write a Sternly Worded Letter. Once they stopped squabbling amongst themselves.

  4. Look to the example of El Salvador for how to deal with criminals. Tell Amnesty International and all the other human rights grifters to fuck off, lock up the hardcore recidivists, with no prospect of parole, 100 inmates to 80 beds (metal beds with no mattresses to boot) and any ‘unrest’ dealt with by heavily armed guards not afraid of being charged with using excessive force.

  5. snag, they had a problem. They are dealing it with it. It may not be pretty or fit with our mores, but with a near 57% reduction in murders last year, it appears effective.

  6. Why should Whitey be telling Brownfellas how to run their countries? Isn’t that what 100 years of anti-colonialist insurgence threw off? Their country their rules.

  7. Salvador is rather confirming my contention – there are no things as rights.
Certain Salvadorians are now learning obligations.

  8. a near 57% reduction in murders last year

Is that only private enterprise murders or does it include state-sponsored offings?

  9. Must say, having read the Guardian’s description of the event, an important omitted detail came to mind. Who got the sausage in a bun concession?

  10. ‘Why should Whitey be telling Brownfellas how to run their countries? Isn’t that what 100 years of anti-colonialist insurgence threw off? Their country their rules.’

Have to agree with you jgh. Of course I also feel that we therefore have no responsibility for how they mismanage their affairs either.

  11. Did Trudeau say no or just mumble some inanity which meant nothing, the US seems to think Canada has agreed to step in, while Trudeau seems to have no idea (nothing new there) of what’s going on or what he’s supposed to be doing

  12. Ooops. Well BniC, that was the way I interpreted the article. It wasn’t as clear as I was, I must admit.

    Maybe I think like Trudeau??

PS. I honestly hope you don’t go anywhere near the damned place. The only bloke who might manage to sort it out is the one in El Salvador, as Addolff points out.
