Why Buzzfeed News failed

We looked at the subtext of the phony term “transgenderism” and its use as a patriarchal weapon to validate hate against trans people.

That’s what they spent their time doing. Rather than, you know, typing out some stuff that people might want to read?

  1. The term “transgenderism” was actually used by trans activists in the 1990s and early 2000s, but as language evolves, words are both reclaimed by communities and coopted by oppositional forces.

    It’s a “He Said, He-She Said” thing.

The communities & oppositional forces comprising two trans-women & the proverbial dog.

Why is it the guys that write this sort of article look like they were bullied a whole, whole lot in high school? Put twenty of this lot in a room and you wouldn’t have enough testosterone to light up a fly.

  4. There was an article or video blog thing a few years ago where they took three or four flaccid cockends from one of these bullshit media organisations and tested their testosterone. They all had the scores you’d expect from a 70 year old.

Maybe all those warnings about oestrogen in the water supply weren’t so far off the mark?

..plus, it’s a term. Not a phony term.

An interpretation of the term could be phony – tho’ that suggests a rather constrained vocabulary – but the term can’t
A use of it can be – but the term can’t.

The big problem with the internet is that it gives a voice to those who don’t deserve one – and then amplifies it exponentially because there’s a need for eyeballs to feed the ad scams.

  7. It’s almost like when you bang on about niche or edge case topics that people drift away and you go broke.

    Funny that.

  8. Well yes TBH. I’d argue that the bell-shaped curve is real. So most people incline to the standard attitudes that the social structure naturally reinforces.

The reason being that evolution works. If your attitudes or society are too bullshit, society collapses. I’m thinking of my heroine Nongqawuse here. A worthy predecessor of St Greta.

Or of Albanese of course. I’m sure they’ll shut down the coal burners any time now.

  9. Thanks Boganboy, I’ve long wondered if there ever had been an outbreak of mass insanity such as we are now witnessing. Nothing new under the sun, eh?

  10. “The reason being that evolution works. If your attitudes or society are too bullshit, society collapses.“

The ancients knew this. Darwin didn’t invent evolution; he realised that it also applies to biology. The Greeks and Romans undersood the evolution of cultures better than we apparently do today.
