Dear Lord Above

“I’m not sure who gets to decide what ‘normal’ is in terms of a fantasy,” says Ericka Hart, MEd, sex educator and black queer femme activist. “But I will say white supremacy has put so many parameters on our imaginations that not feeling wrong when we think beyond vanilla hetero sex takes some unlearning. As long as the fantasy is consensual—freely given, reversible, informed, enthusiastic, and specific—it can be carried out.”

The reason we don’t all dream of the really tufty squirrel suit is white supremacy?

  1. Reading the words “sex educator and black queer femme activist” I automatically thought plus-sized.

    Ker-ching!

  2. Rational Anarchist

“The reason we don’t all dream of the really tufty squirrel suit…”

    Speak for yourself…

  3. I had a look, so you don’t have to. It claims a “Master’s of Education in Human Sexuality” from – I shit you not – Widener University.

A Massa’s. Well that nod to “white supremacy” seems to have passed it by.

I don’t know if it’s sexual, but it’s fantasy is cleary tp be white.

  4. My fantasy is shagging a cute, consensual and enthusiastic black lass while wearing a full KKK outfit. I wonder if it would be within what she considers “normal”?

  5. My fantasy is White Massa invites his friends round for a hot chocolate sandwich. Hope that passes your test, Ericka.

  6. All the word salad quoted above means is “No-one wants to fuck me, wah wah! and it’s all someone else’s fault that I’m fat and mental!”

    FTFY

  7. But I will say white supremacy has put so many parameters on our imaginations

Sounds like “white supremacy” had the right idea, fatty.

  8. While browsing you tube videos about music theory, I came across a video with a title suggesting that music theory represented some kind of white supremacy. Presumably because Bach was conducting orchestras of horns and massed violins and playing virtuoso performances on an enormous pipe organ, while music in the non white world involved banging on a log with a rock. I suppose that supremacy is as good a word as any.

  9. “As long as the fantasy is consensual—freely given, reversible, informed, enthusiastic, and specific—it can be carried out.”

Er. Yes. That’s classical liberalism, as formulated and written about extensively by countless dead white European men. Your point, Doctor?

  10. Apologies for the double-post, but a thought occurs: is “white supremacy” going the same way as “right wing”, in that it’s coming to mean anything the speaker doesn’t like? We’ll know for sure when they start mushing it together into a single word.

Actually, the term here in Oz is ‘far right’. Still, they’ve been claiming Nazis are right wing since WW2.

  12. Right wing is now Far Right. Not sure what happened to Hard Right?

Racism is achingly fashionable these days, quite extraordinary really.

  13. If you think non-white people need help, preferential treatment, subsidy and safe spaces, doesn’t that pretty much amount to white supremacist ideation? Cos anyone who needs those things must be..what?

  14. Racism is achingly fashionable these days

I do like to be on trend.

Sadly, King Tampon and his slightly less dopey son are all over the press today gushing about how much they love mass scale Third World migration to my country.

    Foolish Sausagehands.

  15. Stonyground: ISTR one of the Music for Dummies publications describing the tone row as an affirmative action scheme for the black notes. I don’t know if the author would attempt to get away with that today.

  16. Jeez! I just suffered listening to the samples on that “tone row” wikipage. I think I’d go with the banging on rocks, in preference.
Do people really listen to that stuff for pleasure?

Sounds like they’ve been busy defining the dominant sexual fantasy.

  18. Say what you want about white people, we are at least as perverted as anyone else. From ancient greeks to Petronius to the Marquis de Sade, I am frankly insulted that we have been restricting anyone else’s sexual imaginations.
