The parents of disgraced cryptocurrency entrepreneur Sam Bankman-Fried have been accused of siphoning off millions of dollars in “misappropriated funds” from FTX.
Claims against Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried have been made in a lawsuit by administrators of FTX, as the crypto company seeks to claw back cash that they allegedly received prior to its collapse.
FTX has alleged the pair “exploited their access and influence” at the business to “enrich themselves”, as they benefitted from perks such as luxury hotel stays and the use of private jets.
They are demanding that Mr Bankman, a law professor at Stanford University, return a sum of $18.9m (£15.2m) allegedly used to pay for a beach house in the Bahamas.

The lack of any sort of exit plan in these kind of frauds has always bothered me. Are they that thick that they think the thing can last forever or are they relying on keeping enough moolah out of the hands of the authorities to justify a multi year jail sentence?

It’s reported that her field is Ethics. Surely it is universally agreed that a shyster who lectures the rest of us on ethics would be the better for a jailing.

Yes. From the article it is clear that he cares deeply about only getting a no work required kickback of a $200,000 a year non-job instead of the $1 million a year non-job he thinks he deserves.
Still, I presume the $16 million holiday home made up for it until it was seized by the Jamaican government as proceeds of crime.
