So, she’s a darkie then, is she?

The Duchess of Sussex will cheer on Nigeria at the Invictus Games, having recently discovered that she was of Nigerian descent, her husband has revealed.

It would appear that claimed ancestry changes as to convenience. I’d also suggest that her Nigerianness is about as close as my Peruvianness. Actually, I’m probably closer to those roots than she is to hers. It’s not a huge leap to assume that the Nigerian bit arrived in the US before 1807. Whereas my g granny was born in Callao around 1870. So, by the logic of these things I am more Peruvian than she is Nigerian, right?

43% Nigerian????

So as her father was from white New England stock with a healthy dash of German that presumably means both her maternal grandparents (born and brought up in Cleveland Ohio) all 4 maternal great grandparents and 7 out of 8 maternal great great grandparents equaling 42.5% of her genetic makeup had to be pure bred Nigerian.

This suggests either a remarkable level of multi-generational insularity (or racism when us white folks do it) when choosing partners or else that the claim, like so many others she makes, is complete bull.

Naturally she wishes to show she has plenty of aristocratic black blood instead of that of the horrid white untermenschen.

Meghan, 42, revealed on her Archetypes podcast last October that she was “43 per cent Nigerian”.

But she doesn’t do stereotypically Nigerian things, such as shamelessly promote herself and her scams, safe in the impenetrable confidence of being more than slightly thick.

Curious.

PJF told me he’s cheering on Russia, don’t tell anyone tho. He’s shy.

Chatting to Nigerian-American actor Ziwe Fumodoh, she said she had discovered her roots after having her genealogy done “a couple of years ago”.

Asked if she knew which tribe her ancestors were from, the Duchess admitted she did not but said she was planning to “start to dig deeper into all of this

Probably the Ighos, or possibly the Whoora-Loompas.

Remember Jeeves, from Jeeves and Wooster? I heard this in Jeeves’ voice (Stephen Fry):

The Duchess – whose mother is African-American and her father Caucasian – has frequently spoken about her experiences as a bi-racial woman

Narrator (also famous homosexual Stephen Fry): She certainly has.

“Probably the Ighos, or possibly the Whoora-Loompas.”

Just as likely to be the Oompa-Loompas.

Will she be paying herself reparations?

Steve, Sometimes I think that the Unicode Consortium have been seriously neglecting their responsibilities in their failure to define a dedicated emoticon meaning: delivered in the tones of Stephen Fry.

I believe that I have, somewhere, some German heritage but I’ll be damned if I’ll be cheering the Germans when they play England at football.

Fahrenheit,

Chances are that she has far more German ancestry, from her paternal side, than Nigerian.

P.s. ancestry can be fun.

I enjoy telling certain people that I am part Jamaican. Then should they enquire further, which they always do, describe how my great great great grandfather emigrated from England to Montego Bay in 1818 to become a magistrate. He probably had some interesting cases to hear.

How sweet that you’re thinking of me, Steve. Of course, there are so many injured Russian servicemen now that they might actually be able to win this on numbers.
