A British woman who murdered her husband while on holiday in India had plotted to get hold of his £1 million fortune and life insurance, it is claimed.
Ramandeep Kaur Mann faces death by hanging after being found guilty of the love-triangle murder of her husband, Sukhjit Singh, in 2016.
The 38-year-old, from Derby, now faces the death penalty with Gurpreet Singh, her lover and accomplice.
Interesting how British the crime was really. If only one of the three had been a vicar as well it would have been a perfect pre-war News of the Worlder.
‘The English’

The least British thing about this story is that instead of facing British Justice, she might receive actual justice.
The only witness to the crime was the couple’s nine-year-old son, who testified against his mother in court
No sympathy. Hang the bitch.
If we were a serious country, we’d hang Lucy Letby too.
Would the son’s testimony be valid in Britain ?
@Otto
Yes, depending on competence ie understanding.
Toddler s can and do give evidence sometimes, with appropriate direction from judges.
While I have no problem in general with hanging murderers when there is no doubt as to their guilt, I’ve seen enough analysis of the Letby case to wonder how long it’s going to be before the retrial and acquittal.
re Letby, I suspect that the appeal court will rule her conviction “unsafe” rather than admit she was a victim of a gang of bullies. So her life will still be ruined.
Meanwhile standards of maternity care in the monolithic one size fits all NHS are extremely variable, and some wards are death traps.
Oh, nonsense. As we all know, the ‘perfect’ pre-war NewsoftheWorlder runs as follows:
‘Sex-change Vicar in Mercy Dash to Palace – Wife Waits!’
llater,
llamas
Mann formerly worked as shop manager at Argos in Derby, and met her husband when he was working as a driver.
Hmmm. Attractive, educated female shop manager marries down to recent immigrant “driver” who becomes millionaire with two properties and chunky cash reserve.
. . . but the evidence is overwhelming and the Indian authorities have been working on this for seven years.
“Overwhelming” evidence and seven years to trial. Well okay, India.
Gurpreet Singh was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison with a fine of 10,000 rupees (£98.75).
Fascinating.
Special sleep dahl carefully dosed to knock out an entire family but not kill anyone. Fiendish plotters fail to notice boy laying right next to victim watch details of pointlessly grisly murder (this witness wasn’t part of the original case). Could all be true, but something seems mighty fishy to me. It would be interesting to know where all the money came from and where it went / goes.
llamas, “sex,” let alone”sex-change,” would not appear in a prewar NoW headline. And you mean “Teenage surgeon, priest in sex change mercy dash to Palace corgi.”
There is the slight point that the kid presumably gets all the loot now.
BiG in Hong Kong.
