Embrace the power of the word “eunuch”

Was Roman emperor Elagabalus really trans – and does it really matter?
Teenage ruler has become genderqueer icon but historians including Mary Beard advise caution over ‘tall stories’

Useful word, perhaps we should use it more?

  1. Another interpretation is that Elagabalus could simply have been a girl pretending to be a boy till she became emperor then dropped most of the pretense once she had the power to do so ….. then got assassinated.

  2. Harry Haddock's Ghost

Another is that Elagabalus wasn’t white, and that the “call me a lady” stories were basically racial slurs recorded after his death by his enemies within Roman society.

Which is fucking hilarious, as all those right on wokeys are effectively doing the equivalent of making monkey noises at black footballers. Bravo, dickheads.

  3. I find it more amusing he was most definitely part of an obscure syrian cult that worshipped a black sky-rock as a god.
    Sounds familiar?

  4. There was a hilarious piece in last weeks Lotus Eaters by the excellent B B Dade (a.k.a. History Bro) setting out the evidence that he/she/it was an extreme sexual deviant who’s proclivities included cosplaying as a female prostitute with the Roman equivalent of palace flunkies acting as his johns. He also allegedly took over genuine brothels with the help of his enforcers and for a few hours really was able to call himself “the only whore in the whorehouse”.

The Roman people quickly tired of their first twink and beheaded him (and his mother who probably deserved it) before dragging his corpse through the streets and finally throwing it in the Tiber.

But if the alphabetties want to claim him as one of their own – he’s all yours.

AY TONE, is tolerating preverts and the moulinyan always a sign shit’s going seriously bad in society?

    Fuhgeddabouddit!

  6. “Teenage ruler has become genderqueer icon . . . “

Wikipedo says, “His short reign was notorious for sex scandals and religious controversy.”

Okay, we’ve had the sex scandals and religious controversies, let’s end their short reign.
    Death sentences optional.

If you are interested in facts, well, you wouldn’t be “genderqueer” in the first place, now would you?
