Another interpretation is that Elagabalus could simply have been a girl pretending to be a boy till she became emperor then dropped most of the pretense once she had the power to do so ….. then got assassinated.
Another is that Elagabalus wasn’t white, and that the “call me a lady” stories were basically racial slurs recorded after his death by his enemies within Roman society.
Which is fucking hilarious, as all those right on wokeys are effectively doing the equivalent of making monkey noises at black footballers. Bravo, dickheads.
