Of course, this solution does not work

George is right, of course. It is obscene that they can do this.

And one answer is that we need to tax the rich a great deal more.

I do not think that all the problems that are created by the rich can be solved by taxing them. But doing so will certainly reduce their capacity to consume – and that is vital.

Because Spud would then spend all that money on other people. Who would then consume.

Sigh.

And, it gets worse. Because rich people, wealth – wealth is non-consumption. But as we know, poorer people spend a larger portion of their income upon consumption. Therefore, removing wealth and then passing it on to poorer people *increases* consumption. It’s the marginal propensity to consume/save. And we know that Spud knows about this because he’s used it as a justification for one of his schemes before.

The three dominant features of Richard Murphy’s character are stupidity, hatred and envy.

Richard Murphy’s funeral will be populated solely by those who want to comfort themselves with the thought that he really is dead.

I thought Spuds beef with the rich is that they hoard; now they consume too much? I can’t keep up with the bitter old bastard.

Also aren’t “the rich” more likely to spend their money on services (or at least stuff where there’s less physical content per £), whereas “the poor” are more likely to buy stuff, which if he’s really worried about the environment is worse?

(Sorry, originally put this on the wrong post)

Obviously the years prior to his death will see Spud in a dressing gown and slippers standing outside a supermarket and shouting at people coming out that their consumption will end human life on earth and that he’s going to tax it out of them.
If those people are lucky, he’ll have remembered to put his pyjamas on.

Except for the dressing gown ans slippers, I think he’s already there.

I wish the Koch brother would get on with getting a few death squads in place to deal with Moonbat and Spud on a permanent basis

OT but as they’re mentioned.

I see the Koch foundation is putting its money and organisation behind Nikki Haley. That should wind up Trump.

What’s particularly irksome is the post
Title – ‘if we are to save life on earth we need to tax the rich more’

Spud supports three policies:

– Unlimited immigration
– Permanent lockdown until Zero COVID
– Net Zero

Which I’d say are likely to kill upward of 30 million in the U.K. – so for him to criticise anyone is rich indeed. The rest of his boondoogles also destroy the economy and are likely to lead to a complete collapse into
A Hobbesian state of nature – the man is evil in a way previously only thought possible in fiction.

“Tax the rich” is always a popular policy. Mostly because most people think they’re not rich so it translates as “Tax those people over there who’ve got more than I have”.

I see Spud has set up his latest grift. A company to develop a new approach to teaching accounting. God help any students stupid enough to enrole.

With his usual fine eye for detail, Article 28 states that “The minimum number of directors shall be [ ]”
