Children are doing it for themselves

Over 90% of child sexual abuse imagery is self-generated, data shows
Volume of material children are coerced or groomed into creating prompts renewed attack on end-to-end encryption

That second line, about coercion, might be an invention. For it could – could – be possible that the kiddies are perfectly happy playing doctors and nurses. It’s one of those things that does happen, encryption or not, online or not, after all.

Of course, this is all really part of the campaign against end to end encryption. How dare you want to have a part of life that government cannot see into? At which point any excuse will do really.

  1. ’…according to the charity responsible for finding and removing such material.

Why is a charity doing police work? And why are they allowed to remove evidence of a crime?

  2. Must admit I don’t support banning end to end encryption.

Though I’ve never bothered about the rubbish I put on the net. I’m sure that if anyone reads it they’ll soon be writhing in a pool of vomit.

  3. It’s funny how the great and the good are so vocal and concerned about child sexual abuse except when it took place (and is still allegedly taking place) over many years in towns like Rochdale and Rotherham.

  4. Shame they didn’t show the same level of concern when thousands of underage girls were raped up and down the country.

  5. Look, ending actual physical abuse is probably not only racist but involves real work.

Typing some thoughts on how to
    a) look good to the hard of thinking
    b) find all the best stuff sent to you on a plate
    c) spend more of other people’s money

is so much easier and satisfying and needs little thought. So, ideal for politicians…

Yup. The attack on encryption is just using “Won’t somebody think of the children” hysteria so they can snoop on us.

Problem is that I quite like buying stuff from Amazon with my credit card and I’d rather do that using encryption to avoid things people stealing my credit card details to buy generators in Louisiana (which was what happened last time).

Sorry kiddies, but I value secure internet purchasing over plod and his mates being able to see teenage John sending his girl Sally dick pics.

I mean, surely plod has some burglars or murderers to catch?

    Priorities, right?

  7. John – it’s not allegedly going on, it is going on.

There are active Muslim rape gangs in every part of the United Kingdom, the government and media don’t care because they are our enemies.

  8. PS – given the very high percentage of “refugees” and “asylum seekers” from Moslem countries in the grooming gangs, the ‘british government’ are admitting new rape gang members faster than the old ones can be prosecuted.

Of course they’re never deported. Even Begum will be back after Labour gets in.

  9. From the article it seems that “self-generated abuse” is kids posting naked vids on websites, perhaps a development of the TikTok dance. I don’t think this is a good thing but it is not as bad a thing as children being repeatedly raped and sexually abused, which TPTB still do not give a shit about.

Indeed . Instagram is full of it – I mean they are pretty strict about nudity but the kids know what they are doing.

The mystery to me is that many of the facilitators ( plod, local councillors, MPs etc ) are still in place and haven’t been sacked, voted out or lynched.

  11. “More than 90% of child sexual abuse imagery found on the internet is now self-generated, according to the charity responsible for finding and removing such material.”

Self-generated child sexual abuse imagery? These must actually be tech savvy teenagers then, eh?

“The Internet Watch Foundation said that it discovered self-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM) featuring children under 10 . . .”

Crikey, I’m either smelling a rat or computer class is way more complex than in my day.

“Some of the self-generated imagery was created by children as young as three years old . . .”

Rat smelt. The “self-generated imagery” angle is bullshit. Eventually, the truth:

“That’s children in their bedrooms and domestic settings where they’ve been tricked, coerced or encouraged into engaging in sexual activity which is then recorded and shared by child sexual abuse websites.”

As usual the images are created by adult perverts exploiting children, the only difference to previous methods being that the camera is remote and the child clicks the record button. I’m suspicious that calling it “self-generated” is part of a project to normalise child sexual activity.

Okay, but it IS self-generated in that it is the kids own computer or phone that is doing the recording. It is the kid themselves that press the button to “Go live to the world”.

Sure, I don’t think they have the mental understanding of the consequences of their actions and they may well be being coerced or misled by some pedo into doing it, but it still doesn’t work without them pressing “Send / Record” or whatever.

A better question is why do kids of such a young age have access to phones / computers in their bedrooms in the first place? Parental control and responsibility have a feature in this problem as well, you know.

  13. OT, but sex related: anyone else notice how odd it is that the BBC is pushing hard some footage its got of the police interview of the woman from Barrow-in-Furness who claimed she’d been raped by a gang of Asian men? But was shown to be a complete fantasist. I can’t remember the BBC publishing any details of false rape accusers of white men. But a bunch of Asians get accused and suddenly the accuser is plastered all over the BBC. Weird that…..and even more weird is all this will be totally forgotten the next time some woman claims a Tory MP put his hand on her knee. #BelieveAllWoman! Except when they accuse brown people, naturally.

  14. Some of the self-generated imagery was created by children as young as three years old, the IWF said

As PJF has said, that looks awfully like bullshit… Are they seriously suggesting that 3-year-olds can photograph themselves in “compromising situations” then download the jpegs to porn websites – despite probably not being able to read and write? If they are, they should be encouraged to enrol in computer science departments of local universities as they are obviously latent geniuses with “Turing” levels of understanding.

PJF’s conclusion is far nearer the truth one suspects.

  15. I have children under 5. Once in a while they’ll pick up my locked phone, activate the camera (available even when locked), and start snapping selfies of themselves. Those photos are then automatically uploaded to cloud storage. Luckily for me, they don’t do this while naked; but I can easily see how it could happen.

  16. Once in a while they’ll pick up my locked phone, activate the camera (available even when locked), and start snapping selfies of themselves.

Of course, going after Apple with the eminently sensible demand that the camera button be able to be removed when the phone is locked isn’t going to happen. That would solve (a lot of) the problem and put them out of a job.

  17. PJF – As usual the images are created by adult perverts exploiting children,

Yarp. Nb this is also substantially behind rapid onset gender dysphoria among teenage children. TikTok and Discord are full of groomers, and the internet is the main vector of transgender.

Thankfully there are no pink-haired rainbow lanyard perverts working in primary and secondary education, or this might get out of hand.

  18. Bloke in North Dorset

Can you not disable that option? You can on android phones.
The default on the iPhone is (was?) for the camera to be behind the screen lock and you have to actively change it.
