OK, now for the next fight!

Police will be given new powers to block sex offenders from changing their names under plans announced by the Government on Wednesday.

Officers will be able to issue a notice to registered sex offenders, if they are judged to remain a risk, barring them from making such a change, or attempting to do so, on official documents such as passports and driving licences.

But what about gender recognition certificates? How horrifric could it be if a convicted criminal had to be deadnamed?

Expect cases in 3…2…1….

  1. Police already have “powers” to stop Islamic paedophile grooming gangs, yet we still have Islamic paedophile grooming gangs.

    Curious.

  2. ’…barring them from making such a change, or attempting to do so, on official documents such as passports…’

But if you’re employed to issue those passports and you feel like crossing out the country of birth (if it’s Israel) fill yer boots!

Yeah. I can imagine how well that’s going to work. Wouldn’t it be better to provide the Passport Office with the sex offender’s register?

  4. GRCs have nothing to do with changing your name – that’s a simple matter of a deed poll or a statutory declaration.

A deed poll costs about £18.50. A statutory Declaration can cost nothing – you just need a signed statement from someone qualified such as an army major….
