Which fuckin’ idiot decided this?

But from next month, the MoD will change the rules across the Army, Navy and RAF so that for the first time houses are allocated on the basis of how many children a serviceman or woman has, not their rank.

Just insane:

“There has always been married quarters and soldiers quarters,” he said. “They work together but socialise separately and it’s the same for married accommodation. Officers should live amongst each other, and non-commissioned officers and soldiers should live together, to avoid the difficulties of your next-door neighbour being your boss or one of your subordinates.”

Now you can do it the other way. I’ve been on an American base in Germany that does.

Colonel’s rather grander house surrounded by those of slightly less grand Majors and so on, to a circular suburb of enlisted. Another way of enhancing, enforcing, that heirarchy if you like.

But having the widower Colonel, kids left home, in the one bed housette while the progenitive corporal has a 4 bedder right next door? No, that’s simply not going to work.

An MoD spokesman said: “Our Armed Forces personnel make extraordinary sacrifices to protect our nation, which is why our Modern Accommodation Offer puts fairness first.

Shoot the cunts.

Now.

  1. One assumes that your army will soon become an occupation force consisting solely of melanin enhanced Muzzies commanded by Hamas.

So I’m sure they’ll then go back to doing things in the good old style.

  2. It’s only fair. It’s the way councils do it. I understand a five bedroom council house is specially provided for Mums with 7 or more children. Provided they’ve got a high diversity score, of course…

  3. Bloke in North Dorset

The solution is to build 4 & 5 bedroom houses (or knock a couple of 3/3 bedroom houses together) on the OR patch. This is just money saving dressed up as *fairness*.

  4. I lived in a succession of Majors’ houses as a kid. Later as a squaddie in hirings off the patch ora block of flats in it. No problem with any of it. Not broke, doesn’t need fixin’.The bloke next door here in Lincs is a squadron leader. It’s his house, and if you’ve got into the second half of a military career you really need to be able to buy.

  5. I’m starting to think it’s not Russia they intend to defeat lol.

An MoD spokesman said: “Our Armed Forces personnel make extraordinary sacrifices to protect our nation,

    Well that’s a fucking lie.

  6. Disgracefully, a major and his wife in their early fifties, whose young adult children have recently left home could, from March, theoretically be bumped to a two-bedroom flat while an Afghan family with multiple kids is moved into their home.

I am told that at least 20 larger properties on one patch near Salisbury Plain, comprised of about 130 houses, are occupied by Afghan families who have come to the UK on the Arap (Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy scheme for people who worked for the British government in Afghanistan).

It is a “temporary measure”, according to the MoD

Tell me more about how the British Army is “protecting our nation”.

“Every week brings more ‘woke’ nonsense like them not wanting to recruit white males,” sighs Amy, “which is so rude to my husband and men like him who do a totally brilliant job. Millions are wasted by the MoD on diversity and inclusion, and ‘levelling up’, ‘fairness for all’ blah blah – all the buzzwords, we’re sick of it. This is not the time to be doing this with the world at a very perilous moment. And now getting kicked out of your house which feels really unfair.”

“LOL,” said the civil servant. “ROFL!”

  7. They really should go back to calling the MoD the Ministry of War. Although then the question would be, who they´re at war with? They give the general impression it´s us.

  8. Steve

It’s perhaps testament to the quality of your writing that I thought that was the ‘real deal’! I sometimes speculate as to which is worse. That the people coming up with this shit are being paid by the Chinese (or some other third party) or that their hatred of their country is so intense they’re willing volunteers. I think the end result is bad either way but would be nice to know…

  9. VP – thank you for being so kind, unfortunately it’s real and from yesterday’s Telegraph:

Watch out MoD, you take away an Army wife’s home at your peril

The lives of military families are being torn up by new conditions in the name of fairness

It’s not the Chinese, it’s just that our previously respected and formerly dependable institutions have been captured, while we’ve been disenfranchised.

  10. Trampling on the troops and officers is one thing; messing with the wives and children is a whole different issue.
