I’ve always rather liked this example

Melinda French Gates has resigned from the charity she set up with her billionaire husband Bill three years after the couple filed for divorce.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Ms Gates said she will step down from her role as co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on June 7.

The Gates Foundation has done some stunningly good things – malaria vaccines say. It’s also done some unbelievable dross – endless Guardian pieces on empowering wimmins etc.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ms Gates will be handed $12.5bn (£10bn) for her work on behalf of women and families.

She added: “This is a critical moment for women and girls in the US and around the world – and those fighting to protect and advance equality are in urgent need of support.”

Guess who did which bit?

  1. The malaria vaccine is dead clever.

The mosquitoes update mid-air and when they land their wings, legs or lancet stop working unless they can roll the update back.

  2. “I am immensely proud of the foundation that Bill and I built together and of the extraordinary work it is doing to address inequities around the world.”

Oh, fuck off. This was built with Bill’s money. There would not have been a Melinda Gates foundation without Bill. This isn’t even like the Dyson situation where his wife worked really hard to support the family while he was working on his inventing. Microsoft was already floated, Bill was a billionaire when they met.

  3. Bill Gates is a nut. An extremely wealthy nut, but still a nut. Another Malthusian who thinks there are 7 – 8 billion too many people on the planet, but not people like him, people like us.

His relationship with his Mum was interesting too……….

  4. The Meissen Bison

Would that he were merely a nut. He is a dangerous ideologue who uses his extreme wealth to interpose his crackpot theories on humankind.

  5. Amongst its noble works, the Gates foundation gave about $5m to the Telegraph to create a special health scaremongering team, now rebranded as the shilling for globalism and the fads of the wealthy team.

  6. She was apparently on the team responsible for Clippy so there not enough ‘to her credit’ to ever offset that
