Ministers are allowing private schools abroad to brand themselves as “British schools” despite not teaching about same-sex relationships, equality or drug abuse as required in England, the Guardian has learned.
Overseas schools are able to be officially accredited as “British Schools Overseas” (BSO) by the Department for Education (DfE). This came after the government U-turned and exempted them from using the same curriculum it requires in England if doing so would conflict with local laws.
The Guardian seems shocked that anyone would be allowed to obey local laws nopt those imposed by the colonialist British. But then that’s The G, eh? Colonialism is great if it’s our sort of it.

Hang them !
I am more concerned about the imminent intake of labour ministers and their attitude towards the few remaining actual *British schools that fail to actively promote same-sex relationships, “equality” and drug (ab)use. Losing their VAT exemptions will only be the first step.
* other than the ever increasing number of madrasah where the curriculum is restricted to old fashioned (as in unchanged for the past 1,500 years) values and beliefs with a heavy emphasis on rote learning. They will be just fine and dandy.
Blair had it right about the English Leftie intellectuals. Bastards. If YOU do it, it’s nasty, vile, an -ist or -ism!
If I do it, it’s luvverly, cuddly and progressive…
Bugger, hit enter too soon. That’s Eric Arthur, not “SIR” Tone, who is a few billion synapses short of being intellectual…
As we all know, if it wasn’t for double standards, the left would t have any standards.
Likewise, foreign powers shouldn’t be sponsoring madrassas here in the UK without ensuring that they teach Jew-hatred and subjugation of women.
Such a shame I missed out on the lessons where you snort ketamine and get nailed by a black bloke
I had no idea until reading this that English schools were required to “teach about equality”.
Leaving aside the political minefield of how to define ‘equality’, and whether or not it’s even desirable, there’s the question of whether pupils should be forced to give up their valuable time to be lectured on this sort of guff, when they could be learning their times tables.
In England, private and state schools must teach “British values” that encourage respect for gay people
Taking it up the chuff is a “British value”, worthy of “respect”. Keith Vaz is a great British hero.

14 years of “Conservative” rule and our schools are full of government-sponsored child groomers.
@Sam – you missed out the bit about their “perfect human”, Mo the Pedo having a penchant for screwing 9-year old girls.
Meanwhile in Hong Kong, BO schools are obliged to include National Security Education in the curriculum – in every subject as well as a stand-alone item. And April 15 is National Security Education Day. The sight of 5-yr olds attempting to goosestep for a flag raising ceremony is instructive.
