Gonna be fun folks

Ms Harris said she was “proud” to have received the support of enough Democratic delegates to win her party’s presidential nomination late on Monday night.

“I look forward to formally accepting the nomination soon,” Ms Harris said in a statement, adding that “tonight, I am proud to have secured the broad support needed to become our party’s nominee.”

Now, we think she’s appalling, most in politics think she’s appalling. But what do the voters think?

  1. The left are like a tribe worshipping a milk jug until it falls over and they realize it’s not alive so they worship a coke bottle.

Now the media has 16 weeks to polish this turd sufficient to provide plausible deniability when she allegedly receives 90 million votes in November.

  2. @john I assume “terrific” as in the original meaning of the word… 😉

As to voters and polishing turds…
People will vote for Harris simply because she isn’t Trump.
No doubt the oh-so-nonpartisan Meedja will do their utmost to Make It So and do their best turd-polishing ever.

It’s fun reading the screaming and speculation, especially regarding who’ll be her running mate.

Double-female team would put off most of the more moderate Dems, and any male VP must not ever be seen to be more competent than Harris….

The Dems would, of course, never consider the option of “losing with grace”, let Trump do his final tour, and set up for the next run in 4 years. Which would be the tactical option after this little glimpse into Clown World Central.

How about Big Mike as VP nominee?

Let’s have a try before you buy! 4 months of Prez Harris between tomorrow and the election.

  5. She can be pretty damn appalling and still be streets ahead of the doddering old psychopath who is her competition.

  6. Thos. Fuller: «She can be pretty damn appalling and still be streets ahead of the doddering old psychopath who is her competition.»

My fear is that your past failure to identify a doddering old psychopath makes you an unreliable judge.

  7. If the democrats are genuinely throwing in the towel by selecting Harris they could also clear further baggage before making a serious attempt in 2028 by selecting a bloke in a frock as her running mate.

Who’d want to be here VP?

If she wins, or more likely Trump says and does stupid things and loses, she’ll want to do two terms, if she loses you’re associated with failure.

  9. She can be pretty damn appalling and still be streets ahead of the doddering old psychopath who is her competition.

I thought Dementia Joe had retired from the 2024 election?

  10. You can’t walk 100 yards in Washington DC without tripping over at least twenty dicks that Kamala sucked on her way to the vice presidency, so she’ll probably win that district.

BiG – Let’s have a try before you buy! 4 months of Prez Harris between tomorrow and the election.

Yes, where is the President of the United States?

Is he still alive? Anybody know?

  11. “Is he still alive? Anybody know?”

If he’s dead how are they going to explain it? He just walked into the ocean while his secret service men were on coffee break? He’s in a coma in a hospital?

  12. DM – lot of rumours that he had a stroke.

Might be bollocks, but it makes a lot more sense as a reason why the “most popular president in American history”, who recently received 10 million votes and 99% of the delegates in the Democratic primaries suddenly decided to exit the race early via Twitter on a Sunday morning and hadn’t been seen since.

Y’know, compared with their claim that Joe has a mild cold and decided on his shock retirement because he’s so selfless.

  13. Kamal Harris is black and female. But she’s also heterosexual.
The dems need some “balance” here.
    Pete Buutergeig for VP!

  14. As I said on an earlier thread, in fact threads, I don’t believe there is any way Trump is winning the ‘election’.

There are people in the intelligence services, the DoJ and elsewhere who have committed obvious treason.

This still carries the death penalty, or life+ in jail.

Not to mention, they face the end of their empires of corruption.

There’s no guarantee that Trump will or could go after them, but they can’t be sure he won’t or couldn’t. They cannot take that chance.

The problem they had with Biden is that he had slipped outside the window of plausibility: no-one was going to believe that that perverted old vegetable had won again, and while the deep State doesn’t appear too concerned with what people believe, or their reaction to being openly bullshitted, they have to be worried that the worm might eventually turn.

Kamala (assuming it’s her*) will be greeted with soaring opinion polls, approving articles about how the heroic and selfless Joe did what was right because while the majority love the Dems and their policies they just couldn’t vote for him post-debate, and the plausibility problem disappears.

The fix has been in for ages.

They knew Biden was walking (stumbling) cabbage, and that eventually the ‘electorate’ would catch on.

So they fixed his nomination and then they fixed his withdrawal by putting him up, unvarnished, on a very early debate in the Goldilocks Zone – not so close to the ‘election’ as to cause genuine chaos but close enough that it was post the normal nomination process (it’s not like they haven’t known he’s a turnip long before the debate) and they could invoke some sort of special new procedure, which probably won’t involve registered Democrats having any kind of say, for appointing his replacement.

*Some people think she’s too stupid to be President – the same people who have just lived through nearly four years of a cauliflower in the Oval Office. All she needs to be able to do and say is do and day whatever ‘they’ tell her to do and say. Pretty sure she can meet that low bar.

  15. Kamala’s “thirstiness” is an open secret in DC, but curiously unreported in the media.

  16. Biden was behind in the polls before the debate, and that was due to economic reasons, especially in some of the blue states that were lagging some of the red states. According to the polls even minorities were drifting away from the Democrats. She’ll probably drag back some of that support lost since the debate, and perhaps even some minority support for no other reason than that she is one, but ultimately this comes down to whether she can win three or four swing states that Biden barely won in 2020 but where he was trailing badly in recent polls. Harris has never been liked. However, as the old joke goes, people who hate Trump hate him like poison, but people who hate Harris just hate her regular.

  17. She’ll probably drag back some of that support lost since the debate, and perhaps even some minority support for no other reason than that she is one,

Maybe, but “minorities” don’t tend to like other minorities. Kamala is pretending to be black, because that’s currently the prestige racial group in America’s racial hierarchy.

But she’s actually an Indian woman, and it remains to be seen if black Americans will warm to a rich, cackling Pajeeta who kept loads of black men in California prisons past their release date for the purposes of cheap labour.

  18. All she needs to be able to do and say is do and day whatever ‘they’ tell her to do and say. Pretty sure she can meet that low bar.

She does still have enough wherewithal that her ego is still in control, and that may get in the way of her being the perfect puppet. She starts believing all the hype about her, and she’ll start thinking she can do better than “they” can, and then ‘they’ will have some wrestling to do to keep that puppet on its strings. She has some skeletons but she hasn’t been around as long as the cabbage, and she has Intersectional Victim cards to play.

Biden has a ton of ego, and is desperately grasping, but he’s also a senile cabbage with a lot of skeletons in his closet. His ego isn’t always in control, plus “they’ve” got plenty of goods on him, making him a good puppet, needing only minor wrestling during brief bouts of non-cabbage brain function.

One of the reasons Trump does so well is that his enemies underestimate him.

Trump underestimates her at his peril. He isn’t a good debater and she’s not bad and she could wind him up and get him saying something crass and stupid.

She is not a good debater. Her performance in the 2020 primary was abysmal and she got shut down, *hard*, by Gabbard at the debate, so badly she dropped out afterwards.

Also, Trump says something crass and stupid every day;) Usually before lunch.

  22. I’d be interested to see any evidence that she is a good debater.

As has been already said her performance in the 2020 candidates debate was generally agreed to be abysmal.

  23. The Biden resignation tweet (lol):

    * Didn’t use White House letterhead

    * Includes a fake signature that looks nothing like the signatures from Joe’s last five executive orders

    * Came with no accompanying photograph or any other evidence that Joe is still alive and not under duress

And nobody has seen the president of the United States since “his” tweet.

    Banana republics, eh?

  24. Bloke in North Dorset

I didn’t say she was a good debater, I said she wasn’t bad, even though she was taken apart by Tulsi Gabbard, but she did have Biden on the ropes on one occasion. She only needs to be as good as Trump.

And yes, Trump does say crass and stupid things most days and they get lost in the noise, but losing his temper and doing in debate on live TV is a different matter, especially if she remains cool. I don’t want her to win, I think she’s a nasty piece of work as well as a crap politician, but I certainly don’t discount Trump losing it.

And she’s going to have most of the the press on her side so the average voter isn’t likely to see all those negatives and flaws so she just needs to sound and look plausible for a while.

And some of you really need to listen to yourselves. If Trump loses it can only be because the vote was rigged? Really? You’d laugh at Murphy for that level of delusion.

Of course there’ll be some small level corruption but to believe they can be so competent as to coordinate the swing of a whole election and keep it quiet is getting close to 9/11 trooffer levels of self deception.

  25. As she’s already on the ticket there’s less issues with her using the $100milliom in campaign funding they have raised, that’s likely the key advantage she has, follow the money as always

  26. Is she heterosexual? Wouldn’t be surprised if some talk of ‘experimentation’ slipped out to help with the various groups

From the various and long standing scurrilous rumours around her it doesn’t seem like she would balk at the sex of the person she had to service as long as there was some advantage.

  27. Of course there’ll be some small level corruption but to believe they can be so competent as to coordinate the swing of a whole election and keep it quiet is getting close to 9/11 trooffer levels of self deception.

You don’t understand how few votes in how few counties decide the election, nor what happened last time.

“I am proud to have secured the broad support …”

Well, she is a broad and no mistake.

  29. “There are people in the intelligence services, the DoJ and elsewhere who have committed obvious treason.”

No, the definition of ‘treason’ in the US Constitution is quite specific: Aid to enemies during wartime. Jane Fonda made propaganda films for the North Vietnamese, but she couldn’t be tried for treason because Congress had not declared war.

People in the intelligence services, the DoJ and elsewhere have committed crimes, but not treason.

Of course I do, and so do Trump, his lawyers and his supporters which is why those places will have unbelievable scrutiny. And as they are swing states they have by definition as many Trump supporters as Harris supporters, you won’t keep any conspiracy secret in those places.

  31. Of course I do, and so do Trump, his lawyers and his supporters which is why those places will have unbelievable scrutiny.

    Haha, good one.

    Google “normalcy bias”.

  32. ” And as they are swing states they have by definition as many Trump supporters as Harris supporters, you won’t keep any conspiracy secret in those places.”

The question is not the Rep/Dem mix of the voters in a given location, its the political mix of those in charge of the electoral system. If all of those in charge are of the same political persuasion then a conspiracy can occur in full view, and ‘no-one saw anything’.

  33. but to believe they can be so competent as to coordinate the swing of a whole election and keep it quiet

But they didn’t keep it quiet, they did it openly, in full view of the global media, and then used the power of the government to harass and imprison anybody who objected. Trump was denied any form of legal recourse because the judiciary closed ranks and refused to hear his complaints. And the media ran a gaslighting campaign to smear people who had questions about the election as a far-right threat to democracy.

It’s actually very simple to audit an election to prove it was fair*, but not if the other side are destroying evidence and spending millions on lawyers to prevent an effective audit.

*Unless they’re using Dominion voting machines, in that case you just have to take their word for it.
