This time we follow the story of multiple ejaculator Jonathan Meijer, a Dutch man who appears to have travelled all over the world donating his sperm to as many clinics in as many countries as he could. Not to mention also finding time to make uncountable donations to women who preferred to source their sperm privately and avoid sperm banks’ rules about donor anonymity and veto the gamete provider’s contact with any offspring until the child is 16 or 18, depending on national regulations.
OK. Apparently the explanation is:
There are no solid conclusions about his motivations. One woman suggests attention-seeking after being a child overlooked in a large family, which you feel is very generous of her. Some of the women suggest addiction to the power and a growing God complex; others proffer simple narcissism and male entitlement writ large as the main drivers. Certainly his vicious response when they try to get answers from him suggests that these swam not far below the charming surface. There is no hope that Netflix or any other streamer will ever run out of content.
Which is ignorant, ignorant, tossery*.
Back to the real basics here. Darwin and all that. Having grandchildren is winning. Having more grandchildren is winning more. His genes are going to end up in a substantial portion of the species over time. That’s winning more more.

Sure, sure, we can think it a bad idea. We can think he shouldn;t be allowed to do that. Etc. But not even recognising the background here is that tossery.
*Aha, aha, aha.
’One woman suggests attention-seeking after being a child overlooked in a large family, which you feel is very generous of her.’
Not the word I’d have chosen…
Not really. Males act in a Darwinian manner, but don’t think or calculate in Darwinian terms. It’s the shapely female form alone which is the driver for sex, not the prospect of propagating one’s genes.
I knew of an English bloke called something like Jon Meijer, and he was a top-class masturbator.
From Wikipedia:
Meijer admitted to tricking women who wanted to get pregnant. He also acknowledged that he lied to the families.
Jonathan Jacob Meijer certainly seems like a fine human…

Maybe it’s just me but there seems to be another tosser previously in UK public life with a coincidentally sounding name?
It’s Called Winning
Close, Tim: only out by two letters.
Genghis Khan was unavailable for comment but there are 60m+ sharing his(or his clan’s) Y chromosome knocking about the Middle East and Central Asia
The Man with 1000 Kids review – yet more proof that we should raze human civilisation to the ground
Human civilisation used to involve, as far as possible, a woman and a man settling down and having children whom they raised together. That’s what the Guardian has been helping to raze to the ground for the last few decades.
This chilling true-crime show reveals the case of a man fixated on fathering as many children as he possibly can. Prepare for a new low of depravity
If you insist on getting pregnant – and, by the way, ‘mothering as many children as you possibly can’, at least for nine months or so – by anonymous men via jizz wanked into a test tube over Pornhub (which is the actual depravity, in old fashioned terms) then… what do you expect?
It gradually became clear that this was not the altruistic hippyish young man they had met but someone fixated on fathering as many children as he could, regardless of the risks of consanguinity and potential unwitting incest it holds.
Has the Graun considered travelling up to Bradford for an in depth piece about consanguinity, or no? To be fair, at least the ROPers are trying to broaden their bloodlines by impregnating 14 year olds in flats over Rotherham chippies.
This is supposedly the first case that has ever curbed male bodily autonomy in this, or possibly any, way.
Oh yeah, men’s ‘bodily autonomy’ is not curbed in anyway. We just do whatever the fuck we like, whenever we like. (As long as we just got off a dinghy.)
These people (Guardian hacks) are idiots. They know nothing whatsoever about real people. I mean, the phrase It gradually became clear that this was not the altruistic hippyish young man they had met but someone fixated on fathering as many children as he could is followed a few lines later by There are no solid conclusions about his motivations.
Fucking morons.

A simplistic explanation. There are plenty of blokes who fruitlessly shag (fruitless beyond the shag) shapely female forms but make a strategic decision on someone to reproduce with (who may or may not also have a shapely female form). Humans evolved expensive big brains because (for humans) thinking and planning was more successful than not thinking and planning.
You’ve got a point Ljh.
It’s unlikely that any birth defects will arise from his 1000 kids. I do concede though, that his lying to sperm recipients is a trifle off.
Apart from that I’d say that this isn’t worth fussing over.
It was winning when Genghis Khan did it, because he had every one of those women.
This guy is mostly wanking into a cup, like he’s a Liberal Democrat or something.

Well, some of it did, but the main man monopolising a harem of women is also a thing. That’s one reason why we are bigger than the girls, to see off the young pretenders. Of course quite a few of the harem also got off on a quickie with those younger lads.
I am reminded of the denoument of the last ever episode (a ‘special’) of the TV series Plebs.
@Tractor agent
That was human life, not human civilisation.
