Nominative determinism went wrong here then

Infant formula companies want to sell more infant formula,” said Marion Nestle, professor emerita of nutrition, food studies and public health at New York University. “The idea that governments are aiding and abetting them in their commercial enterprise over the public health interest is really shocking to me.”

  1. Person in Pictland

“professor emerita of … public health”

Ah, is she one of the Pubic Health people who murdered millions with their response to Covid? I think we should be told.

  2. Person in Pictland

Public Health, I mean. But it does make me wonder whether governments should set up departments of Pubic Health.

  3. Yes very good Tim

She’d be advised to amend her surname

    Marion Nestle-no-relation-or-connection

  4. Joke from a friend whose father was a Royce.

Q: “Any relation to the Royces of Rolls Royce?”

A: “Only by descent, not by finance”.

The same joke was told in my boyhood about Jardines and Jardine Matheson.

  5. Perhaps one should imagine her name implying that babies love to Nestle in her arms??

Damifino whether they’d want to drink the infant formula though?

  6. Imv, there’s a lot of good criticisms in the article of government meddling. It seems that if you have a trade agreement that includes milk products you can argue the wordings of how consumers are educated on the label. The author doesn’t quite make the jump to say “don’t have any trade agreements” alas.

  7. If she’s against milk formula what, I wonder, does she have to say about hormone-induced ‘breastfeeding’ transgender men?
