If dementia caused the Labour Party, what form of brain curdling insanity caused them to become the government by a landslide?

If dementia caused the Labour Party I shudder to enquire what caused the Tory Party.
I didn’t vote Labour because I could remember living under four periods of Labour governments; Tim is suggesting that those who couldn’t remember were more likely to vote Labour.
I agree with that suggestion but I don’t think it is a sufficient reason or even the major reason – all Public Sector workers (and “workers”) and Trade Union officials (especially RMT ones) have a vested interest in voting Labour and their families have an indirect vested interest in voting Labour. The Public Sector employs 5.95 million (excluding pensioners) or 8.75m including pensioners so those with vested interests are around 12-15m and Labour got 9.71 m votes.
Me: Labour couldn’t possibly be any worse than the Tories. Starmer: Hold my Dutch beer.
